GRANT OPPORTUNITY! Did you know the Lester A. Walker Foundation provides grant funding to 501(c)3 organizations in the Fremont area for civic, cultural, educational, health and welfare purposes? Applications are accepted once a year, and this year's deadline is Oct. 28th! Visit the website below for more details!

From Pre-K to college, Fremont offers a lot of ways to learn and grow. 📚
Our community is home to public and private schools, early childhood education, a community college, and a four-year college—giving students opportunities to continue their education close to home.

And the data shows some interesting trends, including a nearly threefold increase in Pre-K enrollment and growth of more than 600 students in Fremont Public Schools since 2008-09.

What does economic mobility look like for women in our community?

Earlier this year, the Fremont Area Community Foundation invited women in the Fremont area to share their experiences with work, income, childcare, housing, career growth and financial stability.

279 women responded, offering a clearer picture of both the opportunities and challenges women are experiencing in our community.

The Women’s Economic Mobility Survey: Community Findings Report explores what we heard—from the importance of fair pay and affordable childcare and housing to career advancement and workplace flexibility.

The findings give our community an opportunity to listen, learn and work together to create greater economic opportunity for women and families.

There’s a lot to enjoy right here in Fremont. 🌳🚲⚽

Fremont has 451 acres of parks, 18 developed parks, 18.5 miles of paved trails, 12 soccer fields, 12 baseball/softball fields, swimming facilities, pickleball and tennis courts, nature trails, dog parks—and more.

And just west of town, Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area offers nearly 300 acres of water across 20 sandpit lakes.

That’s a pretty impressive collection of places to play, explore and enjoy the outdoors.

NEW GRANT OPPORTUNITY! The Fremont Area Community Foundation is pleased to offer grants through the Jim Gallant Hope Fund, created by family and friends to carry forward Jim’s lifelong commitment to helping others.

Grants will support local nonprofits working to restore hope and opportunity for vulnerable individuals, with particular consideration for programs serving people who have experienced foster care or the juvenile justice system, are unhoused, or are without family support.

The application deadline is October 31, 2026.
