Linguabee

Linguabee An all-in-one handcrafted platform that allows you to request ASL interpreters or translation servic It all began when Patrick Boudreault had a problem.

He wanted the freedom to request an ASL interpreter without the restrictions of a traditional interpreting agency. He came up with the idea of an online marketplace where consumers and freelance interpreters could connect on their own terms. He brought that idea to Chad Taylor, and Linguabee was born. Linguabee: a combination of lingua, the latin word for language and bee, to represent a bustling

community - is here to make your life easier by meeting all of your interpreting needs. Linguabee is a people-first, Deaf-owned company. We believe what's best for the community is also what's best for the company. We are excited to share this innovation with you - Deaf people, ASL interpreters, and businesses alike.

🚩 Not all workplaces are created equal. Let’s talk about the GREEN FLAGS.

Too often, ā€œaccessā€ is viewed as a single checkbox to mark. But at Linguabee, we know that true inclusion is a living, breathing culture. It’s not just about one-size-fits-all solutions; it’s about a workplace that values the diverse ways Deaf and Hard of Hearing professionals lead, communicate, and excel.

What does it look like when a company shifts from ā€œcomplianceā€ to ā€œcultureā€?

🩷Communication by Default: Captions aren’t a ā€œspecial requestā€ for the one Deaf person in the room, they are a standard tool for everyone.

🩷Access is Diverse & Versatile: A ā€œGreen Flagā€ workplace understands that access looks different every day. Sometimes it’s a high-level ASL interpreter for a board meeting; other times it’s captioning, remote VRI, or a team that has mastered visual turn-taking. It’s about having a toolkit, not just a single tool.

🩷 Deaf Culture Literacy: Peers and leadership understand that access is a two-way street. They’ve moved beyond ā€œdoing a favorā€ to practicing genuine Deaf-centric etiquette.

🩷Access as a Line Item, Not an Ask: You don’t have to ā€œjustifyā€ your professional needs. In an inclusive space, these resources are already budgeted and prioritized. Access is a non-negotiable part of the infrastructure.

🩷Asset Over Accommodation: Your perspective is recognized as a professional edge. The focus isn’t on the ā€œcostā€ of access, but on the massive value you bring to the table when the barriers are removed.

Linguabee is here to support companies move from ā€œaccommodatingā€ to empowering. We partner with organizations to build these inclusive spaces, providing the expertise and the accessibility to ensure every employee has the right fit for the right moment. šŸ

Deaf/HH Community: What’s a ā€œGreen Flagā€ that made you feel truly valued at work?

Allies: How are you diversifying your access toolkit this year?

šŸ‘‡ Let’s build a more versatile future!

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
We pause in remembrance and reflection, recognizing that the work of justice and equity is ongoing.

As a Deaf-owned and Deaf-run agency, we believe language access is a civil right and part of that work.

Our office is closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
