Our Hometown Heroes Banner Project is exceeding expectations and we have completed our first order of 24 banners which will be displayed on Main Street. We will be announcing a community reception for the families and sponsors when the banners are received. Our desire is that this initial order will encourage other families to sponsor banners for their heroes. We seek to involve the entire community. Stay tuned for additional information.

The Rotary Club of Fremont has obtained approval from the Town to provide a project titled Hometown Heroes to honor Veterans from Fremont from the past and including current Active Duty Military. The Banners will be 30"X 60" and be placed on Main Street on a schedule agreed to with the town, to include Memorial Day and Veterans Day. The Banners will cost $200. This is NOT a fundraiser for the Rotary Club but a project to Honor our Heroes. Applications can be obtained from Town Hall, Nationwide Insurance, and hopefully other businesses in town. Applications provided by Sponsors and Families must provide the $200 cost at application and a picture of the Veteran to be honored. The pictures are best if 8X10 and provided digitally if possible to [email protected]. If original pictures are provided, they will be scanned and returned to the family. We solicit applications from the broad community as a whole to honor Veterans from all Eras of Service. Questions can be directed to any Rotary Member or [email protected]. The banner pictured is a sample. I will attach the application to this post if possible.

The Fremont Rotary Beer Garden fundraiser could not have been more enjoyable and successful. I learned a lesson about marketing for next year and we look forward to repeating our fundraiser. The members of the club thoroughly enjoyed the event as we were able to speak with our patrons and visit instead of just working. A successful fundraiser combines efforts to raise money for our contribution to the community, and just as importantly the fellowship that occurs during the event. A tremendous debt of gratitude goes out to Les Stewart and Trophy Brewing Company. Les quite strikingly continues the vision and work of his father. All of those who visited us today seemed to enjoy themselves. A huge thank you to Mark Benfield and Elizabeth Benfield who made their property available to the Rotary Club for this fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who participated. We will be good stewards of your financial contributions.

The Rotary Club of Fremont is excited to announce a Club Fundraiser to be held on March 22nd. The Club will operate a Beer Garden at 102 East Carolina Street beside the Daffodil Park at a side lot to a Private Home. The Beer Garden is Sponsored By Trophy Brewing Company of Raleigh. Fremont's own Les Stewart is Brewmaster and it was Keith's idea five years ago to hold this fundraiser. The Garden will be open from 10:00-5:00 that Saturday.
