We are nearing the end of construction! A lot of A/V equipment went in this week. Here’s what’s coming:
• BIG screens in the senior center and flexible community room, plus hearing-assistance audio. Author visits ✍🏽 , “drive-in” movie nights🍿, bingo? 🙋🏼 yes, please!
• Private, video-ready study/telehealth rooms for interviews, client meetings and healthcare visits. 👩🏻‍⚕️
• Digital event signs—less paper! 📝
• A teen TV and gaming setup. 🎮
• An interactive screen for meetings, teaching and learning in the conference room/makerspace. 🥽🎨⚙️🧶🎓💼
And the fireplace is on—hello, cozy winter reading! 🔥📚

The building is looking wonderful, and we are so excited for how much space we'll have. We plan on offering many more materials, services, and programs!

📦 If you had signed up to volunteer this past summer, but then never heard from us - don't worry! We received your application, we just didn't have any tasks that required your help. We will be very grateful if you are still able to help in the next two weeks, as that is when we will finally be able to move and set up the new space!

📩 Keep an eye out for an email from the library ([email protected]) with more information on when and where you can help. Don't forget to check your spam folder! We will also post those updates on Facebook.

Our circulation desk has been moved to the new library building to be professionally installed, but we’re still here!

We got a temporary desk set up and are still open for browsing and hold pickups.

Storytime on Oct. 21 will be at the Legion, but the library will be closed (we’ll be moving & setting up the new space that week!)

Don’t forget to add the Grand Opening Day (Oct. 24) to your calendar. We’re so excited for you to celebrate this milestone with us!

📖 Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read.📖

Banned Books Week (October 4th-10th, 2026), is Sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and the Banned Books Week Coalition, shining light onto challenged books. Join us in reading and advocating for the freedom to read diverse literature.

(Not so) Fun fact: The ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom tracked 4,235 unique book titles challenged in the U.S. during 2025.

Also, many books that are now considered "classics", where once challenged or banned! Visit www.ala.org/bbooks/banned to learn more or check out our library display and Infosoup list for more titles.

🍂Happy October!🍂

Our staff reads seem to reflect the weather we had this September - some of that warm and fun summer energy remained, but we're also getting excited for Halloween and the coziness of the cooler weather!

From sweet & warm mysteries and adventures, to cryptids, thrillers, and hauntings, this list can be a starting point if you're looking for something to read with your pumpkin spice latte.☕😉

🦋 The butterfly puzzle is finally finished! 🦋 We've enjoyed watching you bring it to life, as it brightened the cloudy days with its beautiful colors. It is technically fall now, though, which means - it's time for a new puzzle!

We are excited to announce the return of the Fremont Book Club, hosted by the Neuschafer Community Library!

We are now offering two (!) Book Clubs:
☕ The Cozy Corner - just what it sounds like, offering fun reads and cozy vibes. Meets every month.
⭐️ Novel Notions - top picks in a mix of genres, selected to nudge you out of your reading "comfort zone" and challenge participants to a deeper discussion. Meets every other month.

📖 If you have already signed up - your book is on the way! You will receive an email notice from Infosoup when it is ready to be picked up.
📝 If you'd like to join, fill out the form virtually- https://forms.gle/Uyk67f1Lr1kKTzP17 - or in-person at the library.

The first sessions will be in November, at the new library location (208 Waupaca St., Fremont). Attendance is free. All book copies are provided by the library (for free!).

🌎 National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - October 15) celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

🤝 This year’s recognition theme, “Unidos, Somos Más” (which translates to “Together, We Are More”), highlights community strength, shared values, and the power of connection and collaboration.

Whether you know the language, are teaching others, learning it yourself, or are simply interested in the culture - check out this display!
