Friends & Fun Club Program Update

Dear families and community members,

Due to the increasing discussion and interest around Self-Determination Program participants accessing our Friends & Fun Club, we have decided to take extra time to prepare our program more carefully.

At this stage, we need time to complete the necessary documents, clarify our SDP readiness, and make sure our program can properly support participants who may use the Self-Determination Program. We also want to redesign Friends & Fun Club so it can provide a wider and stronger range of support for the individuals and families we serve.

Because of this, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the current launch date for Friends & Fun Club.

We truly appreciate the interest, encouragement, and support from our families and community. Our goal is not only to open the program, but to open it responsibly, with the right preparation, structure, and support in place.

We will announce a new launch date after the required process is cleared and our program is SDP-ready.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue building a stronger and more supportive program for our community.

With appreciation,
Bountiful Blossom

This video shares a true story from my experience working in an adult daycare center.

During a board game activity, one individual stayed in the room but did not join the games right away. Instead of pushing him to participate, Andrea gently invited him, respected his “no,” modeled the activity, and waited until he felt ready to try.

This story reflects one of Bountiful Blossom’s core values:

Real support is not about rushing someone to participate.
It is about creating a safe space, respecting each person’s pace, and celebrating small steps.

Because small steps matter.
Respect matters.
And sometimes, the most meaningful support is simply saying:

“It’s okay. I’ll wait with you.”

Every story has a beginning.

Bountiful Blossom started three years ago with a simple hope: to create a place of connection, support, and belonging for families and individuals with special needs.

Step by step, that hope became real moments — Community Circle, Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk-or-Treat, parenting support webinars, and many community memories along the way.

As we continue sharing our videos and stories, we are grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey.

Thank you to our families, volunteers, and community.

Bountiful Blossom will continue.

Dear Bountiful Blossom Families and Friends,

We are sorry to share that this year’s Summer Festival has been canceled.

Fremont Central Park has several construction projects taking place this summer, including the renovation of the former Teen Center into a new community center, the closure of the soccer field area, and the closure of nearby restrooms. Because of these changes, we were not able to find a suitable and accessible location to host this year’s Summer Festival.

Since our event is designed for individuals with special needs or disabilities and their families, safety, accessibility, restroom access, and a comfortable environment are very important to us. After careful consideration, we made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.

Thank you so much for your understanding and support. We look forward to seeing you at future Bountiful Blossom programs and community events.

With appreciation,
Bountiful Blossom
