📢 Attention humans and their furry supervisors! 📢

The weekly schedule has arrived, and after extensive negotiations with the dogs, cats, and clinic coffee pot, we’ve reached an agreement. 🐶🐱☕

Here’s the plan for the week:

🩺 Monday: 10am–1pm
🩺 Tuesday: 10am–2pm
🩺 Wednesday: 10am–2pm
🚪 Thursday: CLOSED
🩺 Friday: 10am–1pm

Before anyone loads up the car and starts heading our way, be sure to check the schedule above. We know some of our four-legged clients are excellent drivers, but we’d rather save them the trip. 😉

💉 As always, rabies vaccines are available only when a doctor is on-site.

Thank you for your patience, support, and for trusting us with your fur babies. We are honored to be part of their care, even if some of them leave us strongly worded reviews in the form of dramatic meows and side eye. 😅

Due to current weather conditions in and around our area, we have made the decision to close the clinic for the safety of our staff, clients, and patients.

Clients affected by today’s closure will be contacted regarding rescheduling as soon as possible.

🚨 Several roadways throughout the city are currently closed due to flooding. 🚨Barricades have been placed in affected areas to notify motorists and prevent travel through unsafe conditions. ⚠️

We ask that all residents respect these road closures and turnaround points. Please do not drive around or move barricades, as they are in place for your safety and the safety of emergency personnel.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe. Please use caution while traveling and avoid flooded areas whenever possible.

🌟 Meet Our Executive Director, TyAnn Sumpter! 🌟

We are proud to have TyAnn Sumpter leading the SPCA of Brazoria County as our Executive Director.

TyAnn is a nationally recognized leader in animal welfare with a passion for creating innovative, community-focused solutions that help both animals and the people who love them. She oversees our organizational strategy, shelter operations, community programs, and lifesaving initiatives, ensuring we continue to make a meaningful impact throughout Brazoria County.

Originally from South Carolina, TyAnn brings extensive experience in both municipal and nonprofit animal welfare. Before joining SPCA of Brazoria County, she led statewide initiatives that helped shelters improve operations, increase lifesaving outcomes, and expand programs that support pets and families.

Her dedication to the field has earned her the Trailblazer Award in Animal Welfare and the Touchstone Award. She has also been a featured speaker at national animal welfare conferences and currently serves on a council with the Association for Animal Welfare Advancement, helping advance best practices across the profession.

TyAnn believes that strong operations create lifesaving outcomes. Her work focuses on reducing barriers to services, expanding access to veterinary care, keeping pets and families together, and building compassionate organizations that serve both animals and people.

She holds an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Sustainability, with minors in Public Policy and Psychology. She is also Fear Free Shelter Certified and holds a professional Animal Shelter Management Certificate.

When she’s not at the shelter, TyAnn enjoys spending time with her rescue dog, Honey, and her two cats, Jasper and Calliope.

The clinic crew is back for another week of wagging tails, purring patients, and answering the age-old question: “Can I get a rabies vaccine today?” 😅🐾

💉 Rabies vaccines will be available ONLY on Thursday, June 18th
📅 By appointment only

As much as we’d love to hand out rabies vaccines like candy, state law requires a doctor to be present for administration, we know 😏 the audacity 😮‍💨

Please take a moment to review this week’s schedule and plan accordingly. Appointments can fill quickly, and we’d hate for you to make a trip only to discover the schedule had other plans 🏃🏽‍♀️

What an incredible day!

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Don Davis for partnering with the SPCA of Brazoria County and helping make today's Drive-Thru Vaccine Clinic possible. Community partnerships like these allow us to reach more pets and families throughout Brazoria County, and we are truly grateful for their support.

We would also like to thank each and every member of our community who came out today. Your patience, kindness, and support mean the world to us. Seeing so many pet owners taking proactive steps to protect their pets is exactly why events like this matter.

As we wrap up the day and complete our records, please know that all clients who attended today's clinic should receive their vaccine records via email by the end of the day.

This was our first vaccine clinic conducted fully electronically, and while we are incredibly excited about the improvements this will bring, we also appreciate your patience as we continue to fine-tune the process and improve the flow for future events.
