Our faith walks the walk. Our faith resists.

The UUA is proud to join a multifaith coalition and the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection (ICAP) in opposition to the rescission of ICE’s sensitive locations policy, which is a direct violation of the First Amendment and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This decision directly interferes with our ability to fulfill our religious mandate and serve all of our congregants equally and with the dignity they deserve. We don’t make this decision lightly, but this extreme action from the federal government challenges a foundation of our faith and threatens to shatter our consecrated spaces. Our faith compels us to take action and protect our places of worship.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of beloved Sophia Fahs Camp Director Patsy Kaplan on November 1. Patsy was the heart and soul of Fahs Camp, dedicating 30 years to changing the lives of our UU children. She changed the lives of everyone she touched for the better and was recognized with the Youth Empowerment Award at the 2016 Metro NY district meeting .

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 10 at 4 PM at Unitarian Universalists Congregation of Central Nassau, 223 Stewart Ave, Garden City.
