Team Step Back partnered with High Hope Freeport and we created a mentoring program called “The Check-In” Our first college trip was a Northern Illinois University trip. We stopped in on the Esports Arena and it was an insightful experience. This was the first of many to come. Northern Illinois University

Freeport, it’s time.

The 2nd Annual Shoot Hoops Not Guns Summer League, presented by Team Step Back and High Hope Freeport as part of the 40 Days of Peace and Community Building, is right around the corner, and we’re calling on our community to help make this season strong.

This league is more than a game. It is about creating space for our young people to grow, compete, build relationships, receive encouragement, and be surrounded by something positive. It is about peace, leadership, community, and giving our youth the kind of summer they deserve.

We are now looking for team sponsors and inviting local businesses, organizations, and supporters to step up and be part of this movement. Team sponsorships must be claimed by July 8, and scrimmage games will also begin on July 8 at the Boys & Girls Club of Stephenson County.

Sponsoring a team is a direct way to invest in our young people and help us build something meaningful in the community.
