Our mission team is making our way home from Africa—slowly but surely.

We left Tuesday morning and spent two days driving 10 hours each day over treacherous roads. From there, we took a 1.5-hour flight from Livingston to Johannesburg, waited through a 5-hour layover, then boarded a 14-hour flight to Atlanta.

Now we're sitting in the airport, delayed another 3 hours. Once we finally make it to Detroit, we still have a 2-hour drive home.

It's been a long journey, but every mile has been worth it. We gladly make these sacrifices out of love for the beautiful people of Lukulu. Thank you for your prayers as we finish this final stretch home. ❤️

Hellloooo Detroit! We finally made it back to Michigan, loaded the bus, and have begun our 2 hour drive to Saginaw. It's strange to be riding on a smooth highway, to be alongside so many vehicles, and to see modern buildings. Another successful mission trip for Love For Lukulu & Beyond

Our group has been on the road and in the air since 5 am Lukulu time on Tuesday. They are 6 hours ahead of us. Two rough days travelling on the ground bouncing most of the time, and two days in the air. We are on our last flight from Atlanta to Detroit, which we are on our third delay. We should get home late tonight. We miss our families and we are still bonding talking about our favorite parts of our trip.
To our donors, we want to thank you once again. It's very rewarding to visit all the programs and building projects that Love for Lukulu is involved with. It says a lot about our community back home. The people from Lukulu and Mitete thank you and so do our board members and missionaries. The statements I've been hearing from the missionaries, is how diverse our programs are and how well they are running. Compliments to our host, they make us feel like family from day 1.

WOW! WOW! WOW!. Some are asking why we didn't do much at the building sites. The reason is, we tried building a church and school at the same time in the same year, which was a stretch. We ran out of funds. But due to some donations later on, just before we left, we now have the funds. The materials couldn't arrive in time for us to do the work. Our heart felt gratitude to all who made the dreams possible at both locations. You know who you are While in Lukulu, we were asked to help Ms Beatrice with a house. We just didn't have enough funds to even consider going through with this however we decided to ask on Facebook for donations to accomplish this goal. We made our goal in less than a week. I believe only God can make things like this happen. Again , thank you, you know who you are. Faith can move mountains. We now have enough to start and finish Ms. Beatrice with a new house. The plan is to finish the church, then finish the school and house at the same time. Many of these workers are volunteers or contractors that have graduated from the Lukulu Training center.

Thursday. Sitting in Johansburg South Africa, and eventually parting ways with Father Nathan Harburg as he continues on his sabbatical, he's going Ireland and England and we are heading home. Please keep us all in your prayers.
Our travel to this point has been very rough. The roads really tested us. Physically it took its toll, but our group continues to bond and enjoy each other's company. A test for sure. We had to stop about 5 times to retie our luggage and saw many trucks break down or flip on their sides.
The pics of the nurses and the baby were taken yesterday by Sr. Pat at the the hospital. She delivered some of the supplies we brought. The hospital staff and patient were excited to receive these. You would think after living with people from all walks of life that we would be tired of each other. We are not, and we all now are part of the Love for Lukulu family that continues to grow. We should be home Friday evening. Love and peace from the Love for Lukulu 2026 team.
