My heart ❤️ is so very happy. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) I wanted to share a bit of my Puerto Rican traditions and others with my Girl Scout family. I am proud that Girl Scouts have been known for years to embrace diversity and the fact that 35 girls from 1st grade through 12th grade signed up to participate, shows me that I am in the right place, surrounded by such caring girls on a mission to make the world a better place. I shared the story from my childhood of squeezing limes and taught them to make lime-made... We also learned some Spanish words to use at home, got up and danced 💃 the Salsa slide, learned about celebrating life with the Day of the Dead 💀 and ended with making another one of my favorite Spanish traditions of 🥟 empanadas. 😋 I oftentimes need to embrace that sharing my little talent of Salsa or the process of making empanadas can mean so much to others and ALSO bring ME so much joy. ❤️🥰
