Megan Moroney is widely considered to be a rising superstar on the fast track to full superstardom, having broken major commercial and chart milestones like hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with her album Cloud 9. Several of her songs are on regular rotation on the country music stations.

Did you know that Megan has an Olde Freehold Day connection?

One of Megan's first public performances, at the age of 19, was right here in Freehold on the Olde Freehold Day stage!

Megan Moroney was born and raised in Georgia but her father, Brian, grew up in Freehold Township. Brian graduated from Saint Rose of Lima Grammar School and Saint John Vianney High School. Brian is himself a musician who taught his daughter how to play guitar and, during his high school years, played in a local band called Last Chance.

The band Mission Dance was performing at Olde Freehold Day that year and advertised a special reunion set from Last Chance. Performing with Last Chance was Brian's daughter, future country music star Megan Moroney!

CALLING ALL MILITARY VETERANS!!!

This year marks America’s 250th Birthday, and we’d love nothing more than to have as many FREEHOLD VETERANS as possible standing together as we celebrate our nation’s history and honor those who helped protect it.

On Saturday, August 1, during Olde Freehold Day, we’ll be holding our 250th Anniversary Honor Our Veterans Celebration at Lake Topanemus, and we hope you’ll join us.

Schedule

- 10:45 AM: Muster at the park entrance

- 11:00 AM: Playing of Taps, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Honor Our Veterans Ceremony

Whether you served for two years or twenty, during war or peace, your service matters. We’d be honored to have you with us.

If you’d like, wear a hat or shirt representing your branch of service. More importantly, just bring yourself.
