Delaney Hall has become a point of concern related to immigration detention practices near our community. Reports and personal accounts have raised important questions regarding transparency, oversight, and the treatment of individuals in these facilities, especially given restrictions on visitation by governors, inspectors, and other officials. Itโ€™s truly important that all agencies, including ICE, are held responsible when human rights and dignity are at stake. No matter your political views, we should all stand for fair treatment, proper oversight, and respecting everyoneโ€™s basic rights.

๐ŸŽ“ Put a Cap on Hunger ๐ŸŽ“

Our Rays of Hope Class of 2026 seniors are ending their journey the same way they began it, serving others.

As part of their Senior Service Projects, they are hosting food drives to support local food pantries and families in need throughout our communities.

Stop by one of our food drives, make a donation, and help our seniors leave a lasting impact before they graduate. Every can, box, and bag donated helps put food on the table for someone in need.

Help us celebrate the Class of 2026 by supporting their commitment to service and helping them put a cap on hunger.

Memorial Day is more than just a day off. Itโ€™s about remembering and honoring the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the U.S. military.
It happens every year on the last Monday of May. It actually started as something called Decoration Day, where people would place flowers on the graves of fallen soldiers. It began after the Civil War when so many lives were lost and communities wanted to show love and respect to those who didnโ€™t make it home.
Over time, it became a day to honor all soldiers who died in any war. In 1971 it officially became a federal holiday.
Today people celebrate in different ways. Some visit memorials. Some go to parades. Some spend time with family. But at the heart of it itโ€™s about remembering the sacrifice behind our freedom.

Over the weekend, some of our Rays of Hope members had the opportunity to attend a powerful talkback event hosted by the Haskins Family Foundation centered around mental health and the importance of acknowledging that everyone needs help to gain the healing they need. One message that truly stayed with us was their motto: โ€œWhen you smile, I smile.โ€

Such a simple phrase, yet it carries so much meaning. It reminds us that emotions are contagious; kindness, support, and even a small smile can impact someone more than we realize. In a world where so many people silently struggle, being there for one another matters. Sometimes the smallest acts of compassion can make the biggest difference.

Thank you to the Haskins Family Foundation for creating a space that encourages open conversations about mental health and reminds us that no one has to go through life alone. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Mental health struggles donโ€™t always start with us. Sometimes they come from generations of unspoken pain, trauma, and lack of support. But healing can be passed down too. Choosing self care, asking for help, and having honest conversations can break unhealthy cycles and create a healthier future. Your feelings matter, and healing is possible.
