Gateway Search Dogs, Inc. Gateway Search Dogs, Inc. is a non-profit, K9 search and rescue organization based in St. Louis, MO.

We provide trained canines and support personnel to search for lost, trapped, incapacitated or deceased individuals at request of law enforcement or other official agencies.

Acclimatization to heat for both the dogs and the team is crucial during training sessions. Nonetheless, heat introduces several challenges. A strategy to combat overheating in dogs involves the use of ice-filled kiddie pools, which has proven to be a hit among the canine participants. There seems to be a growing interest among the human team members for similar cooling measures.
