Volunteer Spotlight: John Nicholls 🦆

This week, we’re proud to feature one of the Fredericksburg Ducks Unlimited Chapter’s most dedicated volunteers — John Nicholls.

John is the President of Nicholls Auction Marketing Group and a respected professional auctioneer throughout the region. For 45 years, he has been a driving force behind the Fredericksburg DU Chapter, helping build the traditions, community, and conservation mission that continue to define our chapter today.

In March, John and his father, Charles Nicholls, were honored together as our 2026 Wetland Protectors in recognition of their decades of dedication to wetlands conservation and Ducks Unlimited.

When asked what his favorite part of Ducks Unlimited is, John shared:

“My favorite part of DU is the community and the quality people that are members of this association. Sure, the organization does tons of great things for waterfowl and the environment; however, the people are our greatest asset. The F’burg Chapter is blessed to have amazing volunteers who are high character individuals!”

The Fredericksburg Ducks Unlimited Chapter is excited to announce the 55th Annual Beef & Crab Feast will be held on THURSDAY, September 10, 2026 at the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds.

For many longtime attendees, this will feel like a return to tradition — the event was held on Thursdays years ago before moving to Fridays over the last several years. We’re excited to bring it back to its roots for this special 55th anniversary year.
