Founded in 1997, The Central Rappahannock Heritage Center is an all-volunteer, non-profit regional archives dedicated to the preservation of historical documents and photographs relating to the history and people of the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford. The Center’s collections include family and business histories, court records, church r

ecords, railroad records, documents on slavery and Jim Crow era legislation, local newspapers, maps, photographs, county records, postcards, and other photographs and documents.

Visit an archival institution near you to celebrate the enduring value of archives and the people and organizations that help preserve these important records and make them accessible. This year’s theme is "Oh, Snap! Photography in the Archives." Explore Archives Month resources, take a tour of the Library of Virginia or join us for a workshop on cyanotypes or webinars on the history of photography, caring for photographs, and archiving underrepresented Virginia history.

📢Calling all history buffs! 📢 Michael Thomas Harvey, the administrator of the popular Facebook group FREDERICKSBURG PERSPECTIVES , will be showing us some of his favorite photographs and answer questions about his extensive collection!

Following the presentation, mingle with other fans of Fredericksburgiana where you can show 'n tell your own treasures related to Fredericksburg history! We can help you scan your photographs and documents to make digital copies.

Light snacks will be offered.
