Zetas of Fredericksburg Alpha Alpha Alpha Zeta Chapter was chartered on June 30, 2013.

We proudly serve the City of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County in Virginia while promoting Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.

As we continue through our week of campaign videos in recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month, the Zetas of Fredericksburg remain committed to spreading awareness, promoting kindness and encouraging everyone to take a stand against bullying.

Soror Christie Smith and Soror LaVonne Robinson remind us of a simple but powerful message: “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully!”

Being a buddy means choosing kindness over cruelty, encouragement over criticism and inclusion over exclusion. It means being a friend to someone who may feel alone, standing beside someone who is being mistreated and speaking up when we witness bullying.

Sometimes, a simple act of kindness, a friendly smile, or an encouraging word can make a lasting difference in someone’s life. We never know what someone else may be going through, but we can always choose to be part of the reason they feel valued, respected and supported.

The Zetas of Fredericksburg challenge YOU to be a buddy, not a bully. Remember, it costs nothing to be kind, but your kindness could mean everything to someone else.

As we continue our campaign in recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month, the Zetas of Fredericksburg remain committed to raising awareness, promoting kindness and taking a stand against bullying in all forms.

Soror LaTanya Brooks reminds us of a powerful message: “Don’t Stand By, Stand Up!”

When we witness bullying, remaining silent or simply standing by can allow harmful behavior to continue. We all have a responsibility to speak up, support those being targeted and let those engaging in bullying know that their actions are unacceptable.

Standing up does not mean responding with anger or aggression. It means having the courage to intervene safely, report harmful behavior, offer support and be a voice for someone who may feel powerless or afraid to speak for themselves.

Whether in our schools, workplaces, communities, or even on social media, we must remember that being a bystander is a choice, but being an upstander can make a difference in someone’s life.

The Zetas of Fredericksburg challenge YOU to take a stand. Together, we can create a community where respect replaces intimidation, kindness overcomes cruelty and no one has to face bullying alone.

Bullying is more than just hurtful words or actions. It can leave lasting emotional scars that affect a person’s self-esteem, confidence, mental health and overall well-being. Long after the bullying has stopped, individuals may continue to struggle with feelings of fear, anxiety, isolation and self-doubt. The emotional damage is not always visible, but that does not make it any less real.

Soror Chrisonia Broadnax reminds us that bullying can leave lasting emotional damage to individuals and that harassment is never acceptable.

Remember, just because you cannot see someone’s emotional scars does not mean they are not there. Be mindful of how you treat others because the impact of your words and actions can last a lifetime.

Today, the women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Alpha Alpha Zeta Chapter — the Zetas of Fredericksburg — proudly wear purple and pearls in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and in honor of the victims and survivors whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence.

Purple represents courage, strength and hope, while our pearls symbolize unity, dignity and the power of women standing together for a greater purpose.

Today, we wear purple and pearls. Every day we stand for awareness, advocacy, healing and hope.

Together, let us continue to be a voice for the voiceless, a source of encouragement for survivors and a reminder that no one should have to face domestic violence alone.

Every year, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated stands in solidarity to strengthen our commitment to ending domestic violence and supporting those affected by it.

Domestic violence affects people from all walks of life, and it’s our duty to break the silence, raise awareness, and offer our unwavering support. Let’s continue the conversation, educate ourselves and others, and work towards creating a world where everyone can live free from fear and violence.

Bullying Should NEVER Be Allowed—No Matter Where We Are

Whether in the workplace, at school, in our communities, online, or even within our own circles, bullying has no place anywhere. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, valued, and included, no matter where they are or who they are.

Madam Second Vice President, Soror Malissa Scott, shares a quick message reminding us why standing against bullying matters in every space we occupy. We all have a responsibility to speak up, support those who are targeted and create environments where kindness and respect are the standard—not the exception.

When we stand together against bullying, we help create positive change. One voice can make a difference, but when we unite, our impact is even greater!

When We Stand Together Against Bullying, We Create a Stronger, Kinder Community!

Bullying loses its power when we stand united! When we choose kindness over cruelty, inclusion over exclusion and courage over silence, we help create a world where everyone feels valued, respected and accepted.

Here, our Fund Development Chair Sharon Pago and Chaplain Jerrica Terry are standing together against bullying and showing that making a difference starts with each of us. Together, we can speak up, lift others, spread kindness and remind everyone that no one should ever have to face bullying alone.

Yesterday, members of Zetas of Fredericksburg spent time with the wonderful residents of Carriage Hill Health and Rehab Center, sharing smiles, laughter and friendly competition through a fun-filled game of Bingo.

As part of our Elder Care Service Initiative and Good Health Wins Initiative, chapter members donated their time to fellowship with the residents and also promote awareness of respiratory season.

The residents enjoyed multiple rounds of Bingo with two winners for each game played. In addition, every game participant and other center residents received a wellness bag that promotes respiratory health and hygiene. Each bag consisted of respiratory season information, masks, hand sanitizer, hand soap and tissues.

The smiles, excitement and appreciation from the residents made this service activity truly special. Our members enjoyed spending time with the residents and the residents were delighted to have us there and invited us back.

Through our principles and initiatives, Zetas of Fredericksburg is committed in making a meaningful difference through our acts of service in our communities we serve.
