🔥 We’ve got the sponsors. Now we need YOU in the room. 🔥

Embers & Evermore is coming up on September 12, and we need your help filling the room with people who believe compassionate end-of-life care matters.

Maybe you’ve been following Ars Moriendi for a while. Maybe this is the first time our name has crossed your screen. Either way, ʏᴏᴜ are invited. 🤍

Come spend an evening with us enjoying good food, drinks, conversation, and a silent auction, while helping us build something our community deeply needs.

Every ticket purchased helps Ars Moriendi continue providing end-of-life education, grief support, Death Doula services and training, and working toward our biggest goal: opening our region’s first social model hospice house. 🏡🌿

But there’s something else your ticket does:

It puts people in the room.

It brings together a community willing to talk about death differently. A community that believes no one should have to navigate dying alone, afraid, or without support. A community willing to help us create something better.

🎟️ If you’ve been thinking about attending, now is the time to grab your ticket.

And if you already have yours, help us fill the room:
✨ Tag someone you’d bring with you
✨ Send it directly to a friend who might not know about Ars Moriendi yet

You never know whose feed we haven’t reached yet.

This is our moment. 🤍

An incredibly generous anonymous donor has stepped forward with a $10,000 founding gift to establish the Ars Moriendi Services Fund through The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region.

Now, we’re asking our community to help us turn $10,000 into $100,000.

We are looking for 9 individuals, families, businesses, or organizations willing to match this donor’s $10,000 gift.

Why $100,000?

Because $100,000 would provide approximately six months of the funding we need to launch a pilot location and program for our social model hospice house.

Ars Moriendi has been working toward a vision of a place in our community where people approaching the end of life can be surrounded by comfort, dignity, companionship, and care, especially when dying at home is not possible and a traditional inpatient setting is not what they need.

Nine more $10,000 gifts could help us take that vision off the page and put it into practice.

Nine people could help us open the door.

Nine businesses could make an extraordinary investment in end-of-life care in our region.

Nine families could help create a place that may someday care for someone else’s family, or their own.

And you do not have to be one of the nine to be part of this. Every gift moves us closer. $25, $100, $500, $1,000, every contribution helps build the foundation for what comes next.

🌿 Will you help us reach $100,000?

If you, your family, your business, or your organization may be interested in becoming one of our nine $10,000 matching donors, please reach out to us.

And if a $10,000 gift isn’t possible, please consider giving what you can, sharing this post, or tagging a person or local business that believes our community deserves compassionate options at the end of life.

We have the vision. We have the first $10,000. Now we need our community to help us open the door. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who joined us for tonight’s Death Cafe! 🤍

There’s something meaningful about gathering around a table and making space for conversations we don’t often get the opportunity to have.

Tonight we talked, listened, laughed, reflected, and shared openly about death, dying, life, and everything that comes along with being human.

We’re so grateful to each person who showed up with curiosity, vulnerability, and a willingness to be part of the conversation. You are what makes the Death Cafe possible.

And a special thank you to everyone for rolling with our last-minute location change and still coming out to join us! 🫶

💬 Were you with us tonight? Tell us in the comments what you enjoyed about the evening, or simply drop a ♥️ so we know you were there!

Keep an eye on our page for the next Death Cafe, held every second Wednesday of the month. We’d love to have you at the table.

💌 A will is one final act of love.

We often think of a will as a legal document about what happens to our belongings after we die.

But at its heart, a will is also about caring for the people who will continue living.

When someone dies, the people who love them are already carrying grief. Without clear instructions, they may also be left with questions they never expected to answer:

What would they have wanted?
Who should take care of this?
Am I making the right decision?

A thoughtful will can help lighten that burden. 🤍

It can provide clarity when emotions are high, reduce the potential for uncertainty and conflict, and give the people you love clear guidance when you are no longer there to give it yourself.

At Ars Moriendi, we believe preparing for the end of life is not about dwelling on death. It is about making space for honest conversations, thoughtful choices, and care for the people who matter to us.

🌿 Preparing for death is ultimately an act of love for those who will continue living.

This Make a Will Month, consider your will not only as a plan for what you leave behind, but as a gift of clarity for the people you leave it to.

💬 What is one thing you would want your loved ones to never have to guess about?
