💀 It’s time for another question from The Death Deck!

Today, we’re talking about hospice care.

Hospice is about more than medical care. It’s about comfort, dignity, and quality of life for individuals nearing the end of life, as well as support for their loved ones.

But what does hospice actually look like? For many people, their understanding of hospice comes from personal experiences, while others may have never encountered it at all.

Have you known someone who received hospice services at the end of their life? What was that experience like? If you haven’t, what do you imagine hospice care looks like?

Día de los Mu***os is a beautiful tradition of remembering, honoring, and celebrating the lives of those who have died. We love opportunities to bring our community together to celebrate the lives and legacies of those we hold dear. 🧡

Stop by the Ars Moriendi Services table to say hello, learn more about our mission, and explore resources for navigating end-of-life conversations and planning.

💀 Let’s talk about death… one card at a time!

We’re starting a new series featuring questions from The Death Deck, a card game designed to spark meaningful (and sometimes humorous!) conversations about death, dying, and how we want to be remembered.

At Ars Moriendi, we believe conversations about death don’t always have to be heavy or uncomfortable. Sometimes, they can even be fun!

🖤 Today’s card asks:

“Here lies ______, best remembered for ______ and ______.”

If you could write your own memorial plaque, what would it say? Would you want to be remembered for your kindness? Your sense of humor? Your accomplishments? Or something a little more unconventional?

💚 October 10 | World Mental Health Day

When we talk about mental health, we often talk about stress, anxiety, and depression. But mental health also matters when we’re facing serious illness, caring for a loved one, navigating grief, or confronting our own mortality.

These experiences can bring complicated emotions. Fear, sadness, anger, guilt, exhaustion, and even relief can all be part of the journey.

Today, we want to remind you:

💚 It’s okay to ask for help.
💚 It’s okay to need a break from caregiving.
💚 It’s okay to grieve someone who is still here.
💚 It’s okay to have difficult feelings about illness and death.
💚 It’s okay to care for yourself while caring for others.

At Ars Moriendi Services, we believe that compassionate end-of-life care includes caring for the emotional well-being of individuals, families, and caregivers.

You don’t have to navigate life’s most difficult moments alone.

We had a wonderful time at National Night Out in Stafford County! 💜

Ars Moriendi Services was grateful for the opportunity to connect with members of our community, share educational literature, and have meaningful conversations about advance care planning, end-of-life care, and the importance of preparing for the future.

We believe that these conversations matter, and we’re always thankful for opportunities to make information and resources more accessible to the people we serve.
