A huge thank you to Bart at The Card Cellar for his incredible generosity — he donated 127 Needoh toys for us to share with children in summer baskets. These children are staying in shelters and hotels in our community.

Every kid loves being part of the latest fad, having the thing their friends are talking about. These children deserve that feeling — and so much more. Bart’s donation gives them a little piece of that, and it’s going to mean the world.

We are incredibly grateful to Food Lion Feeds for their generous grant supporting Spreading Smiles and our mission to help local children and families facing hardship. 💛

Because of support like this, we are able to continue providing Weekend Buddy Bags, summer support, and moments of joy to children throughout our community. This school year alone, we have distributed over 34,500 weekend meal bags to children across 32 schools — and none of it would be possible without amazing community partners like Food Lion Feeds.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make sure children in our area have food, support, and the chance to simply be kids. We are truly honored by your support!

🚨 NeeDoh Hunt Alert! 🚨

As we put together our summer baskets for local children facing difficult circumstances, we would LOVE to include a NeeDoh in every basket. 💛

NeeDohs are one of the biggest toy trends right now and these kids deserve to have the fun, trendy toys everyone else is excited about too! The real ones are usually around $5 each, so we are trying to find as many as we can. We have 75 so far and are aiming to do 200 baskets.

If you spot any “in the wild,” please let us know! 👀

We’ve recently seen them at places like:
• Card Cellar
• Hallmark
• Cracker Barrel
• Wegmans
• Target
• Walmart

(And anywhere else you may find them!)

Even though most kids are on summer break, childhood hunger doesn’t take a vacation — and neither do we. 💛

This week, Spreading Smiles sent out over 780 Weekend Buddy Bags to children living in local hotel programs and children attending summer school throughout our community.

For many kids, school being out also means losing consistent access to meals. That’s why we continue working all summer long to make sure children have food for the weekends and know their community cares about them.

Because of your support, volunteers, donations, food drives, business partners, and every share of our mission, we are able to continue showing up for local children and families when they need it most.

Thank you to everyone who helps make this possible. We truly could not do this without our amazing community. 💕

This summer, Spreading Smiles is putting together special summer baskets for local children facing difficult circumstances — including children staying at the Brisben Center, local hotel programs, Empowerhouse, Fairy Godmother Project, and other community partners supporting families in need.

Each basket is designed to bring a little joy, comfort, and normalcy to kids during the summer months. Along with essentials and fun items, we are hoping to include popular toys like NeeDohs because every child deserves to feel included and experience the fun things other kids are enjoying too. You can sponsor a kids basket for just $10

In addition to the baskets, we will also be hosting two summer events for children featuring face painting, snow cones, food, games, and more — creating special memories for kids who may otherwise go without.

As a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit, every donation directly helps us provide smiles, support, and meaningful experiences for local children and families this summer. 💛
