SPCA of Fredericksburg The Fredericksburg SPCA is a life-saving, humane organization. The Fredericksburg SPCA is not a municipal shelter.

The Fredericksburg Regional SPCA is a non-profit, lifesaving humane organization dedicated to the principle that every life is unique and worthy of protection. As a local leader in humane care and education, the Fredericksburg SPCA's mission is to tackle the problem of pet overpopulation through education, adoption, rehabilitation, and spay/neuter. The organization saves the lives of many homeless animals each year and cares for approximately 250 cats and dogs daily. We are not affiliated with any other animal welfare organization. We are an independent shelter that must raise 100% of our annual budget.

We’re partnering with Sheehy Subaru of Fredericksburg and the ASPCA to help local pets in need find loving homes. Sheehy Subaru of Fredericksburg is rolling into the shelter with some big generosity— sponsoring a Trunk or Treat and covering ALL cat and dog adoption fees in celebration of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative!

Saturday, October 17
12–4 PM: Trunk or Treat and sponsored adoptions thanks to Sheehy Subaru of Fredericksburg and the Initiative
4-6 PM: ASPCA will be covering adoptions during these hours thanks to the Rescue Effect.

It's giving FALL lately!! 🍂🥹🐾

Do NOT miss the annual Fred SPCA's Animal Rescue Festival! Every year we post photos, and every year someone says "dang-it, I didn't know this was happening!"

So mark your calendars!! Join us Saturday, November 7, at Hurkamp Park for a day filled with adoptable animals from different rescues and shelters, community, local vendors, music, activities, and fun for the whole family!

Sweet 9-year-old senior boy, Bubba, has now spent over 100 days in our care waiting for one very special thing: a family to call his own.

Bubba has been part of a fee-waived senior dog promotion and TWO fee-waived ASPCA adoption events, yet somehow, his happy smile, teefers-n-peepers, ears-for-years and loving personality goes unnoticed by those walking through our kennels. Sure, sometimes his eyes look like they are giving you two different directions to the corner store, but the way they carry a deep soul connection are unmatched. We keep asking ourselves how this deserving boy has been overlooked time and time again, and what is it going to take for someone to notice his worth?

Bubba still has so much life, love, and companionship to offer. He walks beautifully on a leash and loves heading out for the day through our program. His idea of a perfect adventure? A nice walk, a delicious pup cup, and drifting off to sleep in the car after a stroll with a friend.

Bubba isn't asking for much. He just needs someone willing to look past his age and see the incredible love waiting to be shared.

On October 17, Bubba will be hoping that the Subaru Spooktacular: Fall Family Fun & Adoption Event is finally HIS moment. You don't have to wait until the weekend...Come and meet Bubba and all of our adoptables when we are open through the week. All animals 7 months and older can go home on an adoption trial. If it's a good fit, you can finalize the adoption on Saturday, October 17, between 12 and 4 p.m., in person or over the phone, with the adoption fee WAIVED thanks to the ASPCA and Sheehy Subaru of Fredericksburg !

, and that couldn’t be more true for the animals in our care who need a little extra TLC. ❤️

This week, two medical cases needed the comfort and support of a foster family: a kitten recovering from a broken leg and a brave dog going through painful heartworm treatment.

For animals facing recovery, a quiet home, a soft bed, and a little extra love can make all the difference. 🐾

WOW! This couldn’t have come at a better time!
We are incredibly grateful to Greater Good Charities for reaching out to ask if we could use FOUR pallets of pet food. And the generosity didn’t stop there!

From the volunteers and staff who gave their time and effort to make this happen to those who coordinated the logistics of transporting this much-needed food across state lines from Maryland, we are incredibly thankful to everyone who played a part in getting these pallets to us. Every bag of food that makes it from point A to point B has a real impact. It means more pets in our community can stay safely at home when their families just need a little help making it to payday with help through our pet pantry.

This is what community looks like. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this incredible donation possible! Thank you, Greater Good Charities for helping us keep pets fed and families together and our shelter animals with full bowls!

Meet Pork Chop! This lovable guy is full of personality, enthusiasm, and affection. At almost 4 years old, Porkie is the kind of dog who brings plenty of fun and is happy to be a part of the action but can also appreciate a good cuddle session!

Pork Chop is an incredibly loyal and affection-driven dog. He enjoys taking car rides, and going out for pup cups. He is enthusiastic about butt scratches and greets everyone in his path. He is joyful, loving, and goofy. He shows evidence of training, including basic commands and potty training,

With his zest for life and affectionate nature, Pork Chop is ready to be someone's wonderful companion. His beautiful autumn colored coat and golden eyes rival the most beautiful fall sunset on the Appalachian trails, which he is more than happy to hike with you!
