Rappahannock CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates
WHO SPEAKS FOR A CHILD WHEN THEIR VOICE IS GETTING LOST?
When a child is caught in abuse, neglect, or family crisis, there can suddenly be a lot of adults involved in making decisions about their future.
Judges.
Attorneys.
Social workers.
Family members.
But in the middle of all of that, there is still a child.
A child who may be scared.
A child who may not understand what is happening.
A child whose entire world may be changing around them.
And someone needs to make sure that child’s voice does not get lost.
That is where Rappahannock Area CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children — comes in.
CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. They take the time to learn about the child’s situation, listen, gather information, and help make sure the child’s needs and best interests remain part of the decisions being made about their future.
Every child deserves someone in their corner.
Sometimes that means simply having one consistent adult who keeps showing up.
Someone who listens.
Someone who asks questions.
Someone who speaks up.
Someone whose focus is the child.
Rappahannock Area CASA works throughout our area helping children move toward something every child deserves:

Fredericksburg Elks #875 has had the opportunity to work with CASA before, and we have seen the importance of the work they do for children in our community.
That is why we wanted to make sure more people know who they are.
