Good morning and Happy Friday! 💙💛

We had a great evening of fellowship, service, and community at last nights meeting at River Rock Outfitter!

We learned 3 new facts about Lani and got to hear from Earl about their continued work on our Anti-Human Trafficking Project.

Our program was presented by Keith Peterson, co owner of River Rock Outfitter! A veteran and family owned specialty outdoor shop in Fredericksburg, Virginia, founded in November 2014 by April and Keith Peterson. For more information check them out here https://riverrockoutfitter.com

Congratulations to the Fredericksburg Symphony Orchestra! Thank you for supporting the Fredericksburg community!

The future of music starts with an opportunity to learn.

Through a generous grant from the Rappahannock Rotary, Fredericksburg Symphony musicians are bringing their expertise directly into City of Fredericksburg schools, providing small-group instruction on their instruments.

For many of these students, private music lessons aren't an option. Learning directly from professional musicians gives them a unique opportunity to build their skills, discover their potential, and experience what is possible through music.

We're proud to invest in the next generation of musicians and help make music education accessible to more students in our community.

Hope Davis spoke to the Rappahannock-Fredericksburg Rotary Club at our morning meeting on July 28, explaining to us her role as the Germanna Community College’s Mentorship Program Coordinator. She discussed working to expand the Germanna Mentorship Program to reach as many students and community members as possible, and how Rotarians could use their skills to be effective mentors in their community. Afterwards, her father, Rotarian Bruce Davis, presented her with a speaker's gift in appreciation of her visit. We are all proud to have them both as part of our Rotary family!

Does this guy know the meaning of rest? Our beloved Wayne is always out doing good for the community. This time, oyster shell reclamation for the Friends of the Rappahannock supporting oyster reef restoration. Thank you for your constant service above self, Wayne!

What a wonderful evening of fellowship and service at the Fredericksburg Nationals Ballpark last Thursday!

Our July meeting kicked off the new Rotary year with introductions, welcoming guests, and our fun new “Rotary Pick Three” tradition—three questions, three minutes, one Rotarian!

Here’s what we covered:

✨ Treasurer’s update and Happy Pot
✨ Service project updates, including our upcoming partnership with Bright Beginnings (YMCA) for July and August
✨ Program and fundraising updates
✨ Membership news
✨ An inspiring Classification Talk from Jessica Donelson, giving us a chance to learn more about one of our fellow Rotarians and the experiences that brought her to Rotary.

As always, we wrapped up by sharing upcoming opportunities to serve our community and connect with one another.

Thank you to everyone who attended and continues to make our club a place where Service Above Self isn’t just a motto—it’s something we live every day.

We’re excited for another year of making a positive impact throughout the Rappahannock region!
