🫐🍓 Dr. Yum Day! 🍇🍌
Our 4s class had their last Doctor Yum Adventure day (while at FPI 😉) on the Wednesday before the last day of school. Instead of buying pre-made popsicles or ice cream, we made our own!
Not pictured: Completed Popsicles — they were too yummy and disappeared quickly! 😋

Berry Banana Smoothie Pops
❤️ ¼ cup raspberries
💜 ¼ cup blackberries
🍓 2 cups strawberries, sliced (with green tops)
🫐 1 cup blueberries
🍌 1 banana, chopped
🍇 2 cups green grapes, sliced
🥬 1 cup baby spinach
🌱 1 tablespoon mint, chopped
OPTIONAL: 1 teaspoon chia seeds

✂️✏️ 100 Days of School 🍎 📚
On the last day of school, our 4s class brought collections of 100 things. Some years we make it to 100 days, but this year we missed a few too many days because of that wild ice storm ❄️

Students brought 100 items in groups of 10 so they could quickly count by 10s and see how 100 items can bw held in a single ziplock bag, or take up much more space!

Collections included:
🌱 Seeds
🥣 Cheerios
🧱 Lego bricks
⚾️ Baseball cards
🍝 pasta
🐚 seashells
🎾 ball pit balls

☀️ School’s out for Summer! ☀️
Our 3s had their official last day of the 2025-2026 school year, and we are so proud of and excited for all of our rising 4s class students this fall!

On the last day in the 3s class, students played like a normal day, Mrs. Cannon made a guest appearance to help make the transition between teachers a little smoother, and the day ended with a pizza and popsicle party 🍕🍦

School may be out, but meals are still on the menu! The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank is providing FREE weekly Summer Meal Kits for children ages 18 & younger through the Summer Food Service Program.

Each weekly kit includes:
🍎 7 Breakfasts
🥪 7 Lunches
💲 No Cost to Families
👧 Open to All Children 18 & Under

📍 Families can register for:
✅ Pick-Up Meal Kits at locations throughout Caroline, King George, Locust Grove, Spotsylvania, and Stafford
OR
📦 Ship-To-Home Meals for eligible families in Caroline & King George

⚠️ Registration is required, and families may register for Pick-Up OR Ship-To-Home, not both.

🌊🐠 Under the Sea 🐚🐙

May is all about sea creatures! This month our students had many different opportunities for exploratory and sensory play with real life objects, puppets, and small figures. Having so many different exposures and settings allows them to be silly, creative, and collaborative, or little scientists and imagineers at more independent stations. Our teachers do such a great job of creating these invitations to play, and is such a fun theme to get ready for summer break!

❤️🧡💛 All the Feels! 💚💙💜
Back in February, we took some time to dive deep into our feelings. It’s one of those big, lifelong skills that we love exploring together at FPI!

We spent time looking closely at what different emotions actually look like—both on our own faces and the faces of our friends. Practicing those "feeling faces" and talking about emotions while we’re all calm and happy is such a game-changer. 🌈✨

As we get closer to the end our school year, no matter what big feelings you or your students might feeling, we’ve been training for this, and we will make it through together 😭😊🤪🥺😳😱🥹

🐓Farm Field Trip 🍓

🐇🌾Our 3s class had a fantastic time at the farm last week! From picking (and eating) strawberries, to feeding alpacas by hand, they got a glimpse into farm life 🚜

Students also got to watch the chickens be released for the day, AND helped set our class butterflies free — I can’t think of a better place to be a butterfly 🦋🍓🌻

🥚 April themes: Eggs, Ovals, Pastels! 🪺
In April, we did a deep dive into ovals as our monthly shape, eggs as our food, and pastels as our color, which was a perfect blend for learning and fun!

🎨 🥚In the classroom, students painted eggs with pastel colors, read books, and did egg puzzles. Outside of the classroom, we had an egg hunt!

🐢🐥 After learning about different creatures that come from eggs, the 4s class eggs were stuffed with that in mind — turtle tattoos, baby chicks, stretchy snakes, butterfly stamps, and more! 🐍🦋

🔎🕵️Each student could find one of every color for a complete carton to make sure everyone could find 6 eggs. Our egg hiders were extra tricky this year, though, and two eggs are still missing! 🔍👀
