What an incredible week of connection, culture, and community!

I am deeply grateful to my Leadership Fredericksburg classmates, Alexx and Chris, for partnering with me and supporting A Father’s Legacy, Inc. at CNEW—Chamber Networking & Empowering Women. Their willingness to stand alongside AFLI reflects the power of relationships built through leadership and friendship.

Next, we represented AFLI as a vendor at the Harambee 2026 Black Arts Festival. It was an inspiring celebration of Black culture, creativity, history, and community. I appreciated every conversation and every opportunity this week to share AFLI’s mission with our community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, offered encouragement, and learned more about our programs. AFLI is growing because community partners and supporters continue to believe in the importance of engaged fathers and stronger families.

Together, we are building a legacy—one father, one family, and one community at a time.

First in my bloodline to turn a family story into an actual book. 📚

Some stories deserve more than a camera roll, a Notes app, or “remember when…”

They deserve to be shaped, illustrated, printed, shared, and kept.

Recognizing our First Responders:

It was an honor and a privilege to offer prayer over more than 150 first responders in attendance at their annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast.

To stand before the courageous men and women who serve our community, such as our law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, dispatchers, and public safety professionals, and pray for their protection, resilience, families, marriages, health, financial well-being, and safe return home was a privilege I do not take lightly.

We often see the uniform, but we don't always see the sacrifice behind it. The long hours, difficult calls, missed family moments, unseen burdens, and the families who serve alongside them.

One line from the prayer continues to resonate with me:
“Lord, give strength to those who are called to risk their lives and be present with them during difficult times.”

What an incredible event I will never forget, and I am grateful for their service and selfless sacrifice to our community.
