Big congratulations and thank you to Gwen from Girl Scout Troop 3723 out of Dahlgren, Virginia. She completed her Gold award, a huge accomplishment and made some amazing new benches for the forge.

We had our biggest Sunday veterans and first responders open forge this weekend. A special thanks to our staff for always showing up and working hard, and to all the folks who were able to come out and participate.

Veterans and first responders, join us this Sunday, Aug 16th from 10am-4pm for our Free weekend open forge event. We only do this one once a month, so if you have some time, come out and work on a blacksmithing or blade smithing project of your choice.

We had a very busy open forge this week despite the heat, met some amazing first responder and veterans and completed a bunch of projects. Thanks to everyone who came out and a special thanks to the BHF staff for their dedication in furtherance of our mission to serve the veteran and first responder community.

As always, we have the staff, materials and tools to help you complete a blacksmithing or blade smithing project of your choice. All you have to do is stop by and swing a hammer with us.
