DAV General Washington Chapter 7 Fredericksburg VA The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization is dedicated to empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.

Legacy of Service...Hope for the Future:
DAV is the longest lasting veterans advocacy and assistance group in this country. As our country evolved, the DAV grew right along with it. Throughout the years, the DAV has remained true to its core mission to fulfill our country’s promises to the men and women who served. Everyone is invited - veterans and civilians, men and women, young and old - to join us as we stand up for those veterans who risked it all when they stood up for us, our country, and our ideals. Certified Department and Chapter Service Officers (DSO and CSOs) provide one of the most important links in the organization. They are responsible for providing information about benefits and gathering information to assist in obtaining benefits and services available to veterans, their dependents, and survivors. The responsibility of DSOs and CSOs is to advise, instruct and counsel claimants and to aid in the preparation of claims for various benefits to which claimants may be entitled.

The Hopyard Claims office will be closed tomorrow Wednesday September 23rd and next week, September 30th.

There will be no Veteran assistance on September 11, 2026; both at the VFW and Hopyard.
We will resume on September 16 at Hopyard Clubhouse King George and September 18 at the VFW Post 3101 Fredericksburg.
