The ACA Regional Activity Council (RAC) extends its congratulations to Bill Caruso and Geoffrey Chambers on their election to the positions of RAC Chair and Vice Chair, respectively. Andrea White will continue her role on the RAC as the Southeastern Regional Chair and as the RAC Immediate Past Chair. Meredith Waters will also remain in her position as the Washington, DC State Director and RAC Executive Committee liaison to the RAC International Committee.

The RAC sincerely thanks Ryan Pepper, Andrea White, and Meredith Waters for their dedication, which helped position the RAC to connect with thousands of paddlers, both experienced and new, across the U.S. and internationally through programs focused on instruction, recreation, stewardship, competition and inclusion. Ryan, Meredith and Andrea have worked with grassroots efforts for a long time, helped evolve the ACA grassroots outreach to a new model with the 2022 bylaws change, and served as a crucial bridge of institutional knowledge from the old ACA State Director program to the current volunteer-led Regional Activity Council. The RAC greatly appreciates and looks forward to continuing to work with Andrea, Ryan and Meredith as the RAC advances forward in its mission and goals.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight Ingrid, a passionate Coastal Kayaking and Flatwater SUP Instructor who’s making waves in the paddling community! From teaching at Falls Lake, NC, to leading epic trips across the country, Ingrid shares her love for paddling with students of all ages and abilities.

Her journey started in childhood, camping and canoeing, and grew into a lifelong passion for paddlesports. Ingrid’s dedication to learning led her to the ACA and a teaching role with the Carolina Kayak Club, where she’s expanded opportunities for fellow paddlers.

What fuels Ingrid? Those “aha!” moments when her students gain confidence—whether it’s mastering a rescue, bracing against a wave, or simply loading a boat. She’s also a fierce advocate for adaptive paddling, working to make waterways more accessible to everyone.

Thank you, Ingrid, for inspiring us all with your commitment to community, connection, and empowering others on the water!
