Sedona Update ❤️

Today we received Sedona's X-ray results, and while the news wasn't what we had hoped for, we will take what we can get.

Sedona has severe arthritis, likely the result of many years without consistent veterinary and farrier care. While there is no cure, we are hopeful that with daily medication, proper management, and an easy-going lifestyle, we can keep her comfortable and happy as a pasture companion.

As always, Sedona's quality of life is our top priority. We will be monitoring her closely and working with our veterinary team to determine what gives her the best chance at a comfortable future. Unfortunately, if we reach a point where we cannot keep her pain-free and maintain a good quality of life, we will have to make that difficult decision when the time comes. But for now, we are focused on giving her every opportunity to succeed.

What continues to amaze us is her sweet nature. Despite everything she has been through, the move, the medical exams, and all the changes in her life, Sedona remains incredibly calm, gentle, and loving. She seeks out attention, enjoys being around people, and has quickly won over everyone she meets.

We know there is a special person out there who can offer this deserving girl a soft landing and a peaceful place to enjoy her golden years. We’re excited to share that HCAR will be hosting an adoption event on Saturday, June 20th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM right in the heart of downtown.

📍 In front of Chase Bank on Main Street

We’ll have adoptable dogs on site who are ready to meet the community and spend some time outside the shelter ❤️
