🐾 Help Us Comfort Our Shelter Dogs During Fireworks 🐾

The City of Fredericksburg fireworks are coming on July 4,
2026.
We’re looking for kindhearted volunteers to help with a “Snuggle & Calm” night and spending time sitting with our pups, offering comfort, gentle pets, and a reassuring presence while the loud noises are happening. ❤️

Even just an hour of your time can make a BIG difference to a frightened furry friend.

What we need:
• Volunteers to sit quietly with dogs
• Calm voices, gentle pets, and lots of love
• Anyone who wants to help our animals feel safe

📍 Location: Hill Country Animal Rescue
🕒 Time: July 4th from 8:30pm - 10pm

Join us this Friday from 9:30-10 AM at the shelter for Walk & Wag!

This is a simple, fun way to spend a little time with our dogs, give them some fresh air, and help make their morning a little brighter 🐶

🐾 Walk a shelter dog
🐾 Help with enrichment and socialization
🐾 Start your Friday with some wagging tails

Whether you come every week or it’s your first time, you’re always welcome. The dogs love seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends ❤️

5-year-old Walnut is pure sweetness wrapped up in one adorable little pug. From the moment he feels safe, his loving personality really shines through. He adores being close to his people, soaking up attention, and enjoying all the cozy snuggles he can get.
He’s currently learning all the basics like potty training and building confidence, and he’s already making wonderful progress. Walnut is the kind of dog who will truly bond with his person and blossom in a home that gives him a little patience and a lot of love

Just a friendly reminder that HCAR offers free vaccines at the shelter to help keep pets in our community healthy and protected ❤

We currently provide:
🐶 DHPP (dogs)
🐱 FVRCP (cats)

These vaccines are part of our ongoing effort to support local pet owners and reduce preventable illness in dogs and cats.

If you or someone you know could benefit, please feel free to reach out or stop by during shelter hours 🐶🐱
