Your Voice Matters, Take action NOW!
Texas VFW's National Legislative Committee, led by Chairman Mitch Fuller and member Greg Brannan, is actively working to protect Veteran benefits by opposing critical legislation, participating in a conference call with Congressman Chip Roy’s office to urge him to oppose H.R. 9237/S. 4744, the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act (TCAVA).

As proud advocates for our fellow Veterans, Mitch, Greg, and the rest of the Texas National Legislative Committee are rallying for every member of the Texas Congressional Delegation to stand against the TCAVA.

We need YOU to join us in this important fight! Now is the time to take action! Click the link below to contact your Congressman and make your voice heard for our Veterans. Together, we can make a difference!

PTSD Awareness Day | June 27

Not every wound is visible.

For many veterans, the battle doesn't always end when the deployment does. PTSD can affect anyone who has experienced trauma, and seeking help is not a sign of weakness; it's a sign of courage.

If you're carrying a burden that's become too heavy, know this: you don't have to carry it alone. Reaching out to a battle buddy, a family member, another veteran, or a professional can be the first step toward healing.

If you know a veteran, take a few minutes today to check in. A simple phone call, text message, or cup of coffee can make more of a difference than you realize. Sometimes the most powerful words are simply, "How are you really doing?"

At VFW Post 3103, we believe no veteran should ever fight alone. Whether you need someone to talk to, a place to connect with fellow veterans, or just a reminder that you're not alone, our doors are open.

Today, let's raise awareness, reduce the stigma, and remind every veteran that asking for help is one of the bravest things you can do.

You survived what happened to you. You deserve to thrive beyond it.

June 25, 1950 — Remembering the Start of the Korean War

Today we pause to remember the day the Korean War began, when North Korean forces crossed the 38th Parallel and launched an invasion of South Korea. What followed was three years of brutal fighting that tested the resolve of free nations and forever changed the lives of millions.

More than 1.7 million Americans served during the Korean War. Nearly 37,000 gave their lives, over 92,000 were wounded, and thousands more were listed as missing or became prisoners of war. Their courage helped defend freedom and preserve the independence of the Republic of Korea.

Often called "The Forgotten War," the Korean War must never be forgotten. We owe a lasting debt of gratitude to the men and women who answered the call, endured unimaginable hardships, and stood the line in defense of liberty.

Today, VFW Post 3103 honors all Korean War veterans, remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and keeps faith with those who never came home.

"Freedom is never free."

Please join us in remembering our Korean War veterans by sharing this post or recognizing a Korean War veteran in the comments.

Catching Up on Our Nursing Home Visits

On March 4, members of VFW Post 3103 spent the morning visiting veterans and their spouses at the Hughes Home Inc, in Fredericksburg from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

We had the privilege of spending time with 15 veterans and spouses, listening to their stories, sharing laughs, and reminding them that they are not forgotten.

A special thank you goes to David Harvey for once again donning his Cootie clown costume. His enthusiasm brought smiles not only to the veterans and residents but also to the Hughes Home staff. Sometimes it's the simple things that brighten someone's day.

This visit had tremendous participation from the residents, with many sharing their military experiences and memories. We were also able to distribute numerous gift bags, and we look forward to returning again soon.

These visits are one of the most rewarding things we do as a Post. We only wish more of our members would join us. Once you've experienced the conversations, the smiles, and the gratitude firsthand, you'll understand why we keep coming back.

Serving veterans doesn't stop when the uniform comes off.
