The Rappahannock River Roundtable is a strategic partnership of stakeholders dedicated to land and water conservation, community outreach and education, and capacity building throughout the entire Rappahannock River Watershed. Collectively, our partnership works to accelerate the pace of implementation for priority best management practices (bmps) and associated conservation programs outlined in t

he Virginia Phase III Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) through innovation, resource sharing, capacity building, and technical assistance. The Roundtable can provide assistance with grant writing, project development, outreach and education programs and campaigns, social media and digital content development/management, GIS and mapping support, and a variety of other support services to members and partners serving the Rappahannock River Region.

Conservation Easement Support Fund RFP Closes Soon!๐ŸŒฑ

Funding assistance through the Rappahannock River Roundtable are still available to help land trusts and landowners advance conservation easements. The fund provides financial support to address project challenges or genuine financial hardship that may otherwise prevent a conservation easement transaction from moving forward. A total of $110,000 is available through this funding opportunity.

Calling all landowners and producers!!๐ŸŒฑ

Virginia Techโ€™s Alliance to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture has expanded its enrollment statewide, and funding is still available for Rappahannock River producers. Farmers can receive financial support for implementing three key conservation practices: Nutrient Management, Grazing Management (formerly Prescribed Grazing), and Pasture and Hay Planting. Payments range from $100 to $300 per acre depending on whether you choose one practice or all three. Friends of the Rappahannock, Piedmont Environmental Council, and York River Steward are seeking a Riparian Buffer Technician to help assess and support streamside restoration projects within the watersheds.
