In Fredericksburg, Virginia, the place where Thomas Jefferson wrote the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom an amazing event occurred, the We the People Rally.
Men, women, and children from all walks of life gathered under the warm sun on a breezy and absolutely perfect autumn day.
There were hay bales as seating and beautiful American decorations, including a historical Betsy Ross flag.
The venue was a massive open field, backing the Rappahannock River. The vast size swallowed the enormous stage, making it look like a lego block.
200 hay bales were set out (6ft apart) and all were full, some held more than one person (of same family) and guests also had seats & blankets set up. Yet, the crowd appeared to be non-existent in the vast arena. It loan room for many more to show up. What a fantastic space!
The children’s play zone was a hit. Squeals of excitement and laughter were heard. The children who enjoyed it had so much fun that they cried or complained upon having to leave it.
A George Washington reenactor graced us with his presence, to the delight of all, especially the children.
Throughout the day people laughed. People cried. People were moved. People were empowered. There was dancing. There was playing. There was singing and enjoyment being had.
New friendships formed. Old frienships were strengthened. Every interaction was nourishment to people who have been craving humanity.
Faces were seen. Eyes twinkled and smiles flashed. Humanity was not covered.
Everyone enjoyed vitamin D and fresh air. We honored the flag. We paid tribute to the military and to law enforcement. Some have questioned the signs “We Back Constitutional Blue,” and here’s your answer: law enforcement swear an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, we support those who DO HONOR THEIR OATH. We DO NOT SUPPORT those who abuse their power. Period.
We had a hospitality tent with face coverings and hand sanitizers for those who wanted it. Choice in a free society is a beautiful thing.
We had amazing speakers from all walks of life who spoke of liberty and UNITY from many different perspectives. All free to exercise their freedom of speech. Those present had the right to exercise their freedom of choice: stay and listen or walk away and leave.
The rally was really more of a festival, even though we did rally together in camaraderie. It was a day of putting aside ideologies and any divide. The organizers, We the Five Women, we achieved that. We welcomed all to the event and worked hard to be good stewards. We went as far as extending food and water to media with credentials, for safety reasons we couldn’t invite others under our volunteer or VIP tents, for they had no credentials and their faces were covered — making it a safety concern. We were in a VAST OPEN FIELD, plenty of space to social distance and not have face covering, so yes, when you lurk and seemingly act suspicious we will be cautious. However, cautious never translated to rude and although our right, as the private holders of the permit and park rental, we could’ve escorted anyone out, but we didn’t. This was a day of unity and we chose to give the benefit of the doubt.
Our event was uneventful which was a wonderful thing. We achieved what we set out to do: educate, unite, empower and give everyone a family-fun-filled day.
We also set out to be responsible, respectful and friendly to the City of Fredericksburg. We left that park cleaner than how we found it... we did leave a little hay behind, but it was imposible to extract from the wet ground.
We treated all who came into our private event with dignity and respect.
We educated many, not just the hundreds who showed up, but those who watched the Highwire live-stream.
We the People Rally wants to thank our Masters of Ceremony, Jarome Bell and his beautiful wife.
We want to thank Del Bigtree and the Highwire.
We want to thank all of our volunteers, some who got there super early and all who worked tirelessly all day.
We want to thank law enforcement and our security detail. We felt safe knowing that you were protecting us.
We want to thank our amazing stage guys and our sound technicians. We are so grateful for all the hard work that you put in.
We want to thank our tshirt makers! You guys rocked it out!
We give a special and warm thanks to all of our AMAZING GUEST SPEAKERS some who traveled from afar to be a part of this event.
But mostly we want to thank the Body of the People who actually showed. You are the ones who will make a difference! You are the ones who took the time and sacrificed your Saturday to get educated and prepare for restoration. We are excited and grateful to have you on this journey and we look forward to future endeavors with you. Let’s Restore the Republic because only We the People have the power to do so.
