In this challenging time for the country - and the nonprofit sector specifically - Glennda Testone will share the 10 approaches that nonprofit leaders are using right now to thrive. These tips and tools are gleaned directly from direct experience with hundreds of nonprofit organizations and their leaders. Told with humor, heart and hope, each audience member will walk away with something practical and inspiring to take back to your life and work.

Congratulations to our Executive Director, Michele Corr, for graduating from the Leadership Frederick County Class of 2026! This is an incredible opportunity facilitated by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to Kimberley Levine, Rick Weldon, the Chamber staff, mentor volunteers and the staff at Hood College for making this such an extraordinary experience for the 48 members of the class. It was a beautiful day for the unveiling of the kinetic sculpture, “We Rise by Lifting Others!” It’s a true honor to have the sculpture's permanent home at the Kline Hospice House in Mt. Airy.
Delaplaine Foundation Board President, Marlene Young stated, “Thank you, Frederick Health, Frederick Health Hospice and Rotary Club Of Carroll Creek for your gracious acceptance of the sculpture which was our desire, given the symbolism and also to honor the vitally essential care and compassion provided to patients and their families by Frederick Health Hospice. Delaplaine Foundation is proud to support your invaluable mission. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek for the retrieval of the sculpture from the Kinetic Sculpture Promenade on Carroll Creek where our Delaplaine Foundation, Inc.'s sculpture "We Rise by Lifting Others" has been beautifully anchored for three years and for arranging its transport to its permanent home at the Kline Hospice House. Thanks also to gifted artist Kirk Seese for taking my initial vision for design elements to create a beautiful sculpture.”
We are so happy we found the perfect place for the sculpture and that it will be enjoyed by patients, families, staff and visitors!

Meet Glennda Testone, the 2026 Nonprofit Summit Keynote Speaker!

Glennda Testone is a nonprofit leadership expert and the CEO of the Nonprofit Leadership Lab (), a community of thousands of nonprofit leaders across the globe.

She writes a monthly blog for joangarry.com and hosts podcast episodes for “Nonprofits Are Messy,” which has reached over 2 million listeners in over 2000 countries. Previously, Glennda spent 14 years as the Executive Director of New York City’s Le***an, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. Over the course of her tenure at The Center, she tripled the organization's budget, strengthened its programs, and completed a $9M capital building renovation to transform the LGBTQ community’s home on West 13 Street. Additionally, she partnered with Google to launch the virtual reality experience of Stonewall Forever, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, and helped lead a racial equity transformation of the organization. Testone previously served as Vice President at The Women's Media Center and Senior Director of Media Programs for the Gay & Le***an Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
