The earthquake swarm here in Guatemala continues with more than 240 quakes recorded over the last 48 hours. Most are smaller, and not felt by many, but quite a few are magnitude 3.5+ and are widely felt. The area around the municipality of Santa Maria Jesus and the dormant Volcan de Agua seems to be the center of the activity. with the vast majority of the tremors being centered within 5-10 miles of that city.

Several people have been killed or injured by the resultant landslides, and multiple structures and highways have partially collapsed or been blocked by debris.

The local emergency services remain at alert level orange.

El enjambre sísmico aquí en Guatemala continúa con más de 240 temblores registrados en las últimas 48 horas. La mayoría son más pequeños, y no son sentidos por muchos, pero unos pocos son de magnitud 3.5+ y se sienten ampliamente. El área alrededor del municipio de Santa María Jesús y el inactivo Volcán de Agua parece ser el centro de la actividad. y la gran mayoría de los temblores se centraron dentro de las 10-15 kilómetros de esa ciudad.
