Making a splash for community!

Yesterday, we welcomed special guests to our office. 🚤💛

The “Rotary Magic” Yellow Submarine , a creative collaboration between the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek and the Rotary Club of Frederick, stopped by after another award-winning season. 🌟

Not only did this fan-favorite vessel help raise funds for the Splash PoinT at Baker Park project during the 2025–26 season, but for the second year in a row, the “Rotary Magic” Yellow Submarine also took home the 🏆 Best Boat Award!

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing creativity, community, and impact together in such a fun way! 💙💛

We were thrilled to recently welcome ultramarathon swimmer and artist Katie Pumphrey to our Rotary meeting for an inspiring story of endurance, creativity, and determination!

⛳ From raffle ticket to the fairways of Augusta…

Our Masters raffle winner returned from an unforgettable trip to the Masters, and by his account, it was amazing!!

Because phones aren’t allowed inside Augusta National Golf Club, photos are limited, but he was able to snap a great shot with his brother at Founders Circle and share some highlights from Champions Retreat, where they played a round before the tournament.

And in a moment you can’t plan for, he even met one of the greats, Gary Player at the driving range!

After a fulfilling career as an accountant, Joyce wasn’t ready to slow down in retirement. She was ready for something new.

Combining her love of baseball with a desire to stay active, she took on a role with the Baltimore Orioles. Now, she enjoys seeing fans of all ages come together to experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime.

At our recent meeting, Joyce—Rotary member and Program Chair—shared her story and the fulfillment she’s found in this next chapter.

What is the impact of a $10,000 grant for a small a nonprofit?

For Love for Lochlin Foundation, it meant reaching 1,349 adults and 915 children with flu testing kits and sepsis education. It also helped provide free flu vaccinations at 26 community clinics.

We welcomed Brook DeSantis at our weekly meeting to share more about their mission and meaningful impact of the Rotary Club of Frederick Service Partnership grant awarded last year.

🌊 Speaker Spotlight 🌊

This Wednesday we welcome Katie Pumphrey —an inspiring ultramarathon open water swimmer and interdisciplinary artist.

Katie, has made waves (literally!) with incredible accomplishments, including becoming the first person to complete a 24-mile “Bay to Baltimore” swim in 2024.

She’s also completed the prestigious Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and uses her experiences in the water to fuel her work as an artist and advocate for clean water and environmental awareness.

🎨🏊‍♀️ Her story beautifully blends endurance, creativity, and purpose—you won’t want to miss it!
