MARYLAND STATE MUSEUM FUNDING NOW AVAILABLE

⚑⚑⚑⚑⚑

Museums Assistance Program (MAP) at the Maryland Historical Trust is now accepting applications for the first time in over 10 years! We have been a strong active advocate for reinstatement of this critical funding for Maryland museums for several years.

MAP grants support the operational needs of Maryland’s history museums and cultural organizations, helping them steward and interpret our shared heritage. These operational grants are designed to strengthen the core functions that keep museums stable, sustainable, and ready to serve their communities. Museums may request up to $20,000 for operational needs and there is no match requirement.

The FY26 grant cycle opened on Friday, October 31, 2026 and will close on December 31, 2026. Funding decisions will be made by a public committee of grant reviewers with award announcements expected by April 2026.
