Spreading joy one delivery at a time! "I had the privilege of delivering food to an amazing family with twin boys Enoch and Elijah, who were overjoyed and prepared heartfelt thank-you cards for us - even using special erasable paper that reveals hidden messages! ☺️👍🏽♥️ It's moments like these that remind me why giving back is so rewarding." Shira, Magic Cycle Volunteer

❄️🥛 Snowday ingenuity!
After receiving an unusually huge amount of rescued milk, one of our scout volunteers built a snow fridge to keep it safely chilled until distribution. Talk about putting creativity to work for the community! 👏💚
When food recovery meets a little winter magic, nothing goes to waste —
just care, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart in motion. ✨

🤝🌱 Community collaboration in action

Magic Cycle is honored to join the Collaborative Food Pantry — a biweekly distribution hosted by Asbury United Methodist Church, in partnership with Helping Hands Caring Hearts.

We were invited to stop by, meet the heart behind Helping Hands, and bring along food and clothing donations to support neighbors in need. This is what we love most about this work: new connections, shared purpose, and communities showing up for one another.

If you’re nearby, come say hello — and if you’re part of a group looking to collaborate, we’d love to connect.
Care grows when it’s shared. 💚♻️

🥩💚 Protein people can count on

A special shout-out to the meat department at The Common Market — especially the 7th Street store, which has been donating almost daily. That consistency matters more than most people realize.

Reliable protein means families can plan meals.
It means parents know where the next dinner is coming from.
It means dignity, nourishment, and stability — not just food.

We’re deeply grateful to the team members on the ground who notice, care, and choose to keep good food feeding people instead of heading to the landfill. This is what partnership looks like. ♻️✨

Thank you for showing up, day after day.

✨ Happy New Year from Magic Cycle ✨

Imagine if caring for one another wasn’t the exception—but the norm.
How breathtaking our world could be.

The truth is, it wouldn’t even take everyone.
Just enough.

A critical mass of care.
A tipping point where kindness is seen as intelligent, not naïve.
Where food is treated as sacred, not disposable.
Where people listen to understand, not to win.

That world doesn’t start with systems or policies.
It starts with individuals who quietly decide:
“I will not outsource my humanity.”

At Magic Cycle, we see this every day—
in volunteers, partners, farmers, donors, and communities who choose care in action.

As we step into the New Year, may we keep seeding that world together—
one rescued box, one shared meal, one human connection at a time. 💚♻️

Here’s to a year of care in motion.
Happy New Year. 🌱✨

🎄✨ Meet a few of the elves behind the magic.

In the workshop of food recovery, it’s often the receiving managers — the ones on the ground every day — who quietly make all the difference.

Lara, Rebecca, Kyler, Jay at The Common Market Co-op and David at Roots Market are just a few of the many incredible people who look out for Magic Cycle day in and day out. They notice, they care, and they help make sure good food finds its way where it belongs — to people, not landfills. ♻️💚

They’re part of a long line of supportive, tuned-in partners, and we’re equally grateful to those who came before them — Tim, Jerry, and Meghan — who helped build the trust and flow that makes this work possible.

Behind every rescued box is a human who chose care.
Today and always, we’re grateful for all of them.

Merry Christmas from the Magic Cycle workshop. 🎄✨

Under comments meet more of the elves behind the magic.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Magic Cycle 🎄✨

Rain, snow, or holiday glow —
Magic Cycle volunteers keep good food in motion.

Because hunger doesn’t take a day off. This is what community looks like. 💚♻️

🎄🥦 A different kind of Christmas tree…

This week alone, The Common Market Co-op donated over 200 lbs of broccoli — and yes, most of you may not know - broccoli provides plant-based protein, along with fiber, vitamin C, calcium, and so many essential nutrients.

When good food shows up in abundance, we make sure it keeps moving — from store shelves to community fridges and partner organizations, right where it’s needed most. ♻️💚

Turns out, nourishment can be festive too. 😊

❄️💚 Weather doesn’t stop community care.

“Thanks to The Common Market Co-op and Magic Cycle, we were able to restock the community fridge today and deliver food to Beyond Shelter Frederick and Faith House The Frederick Rescue Mission—supporting families when it matters most, especially during the holiday season.”
— Abeer, Magic Cycle volunteer

Colder days, heavier coats — same commitment. When temperatures drop, the need doesn’t. And our volunteers keep showing up to make sure food reaches people with dignity and care. ♻️✨

Huge thanks to The Common Market Co-op and to volunteers like Abeer Haddad who keep good food moving, no matter the weather.
