We have partnered with Rebecca Bardwell of PaperPie Books to create a book drive event this fall! All funds raised will go towards more books, and PaperPie will match all donations at 50%! We have donated PaperPie Books (formerly Usborne Books) ever since we started as a nonprofit, and their high-quality books have always been welcomed by the hospitals. We hope our followers who observe had a meaningful Yom Kippur. This important Jewish holiday began last night at sundown and ended tonight at sundown. During the day, observers fast (don't eat or drink) and spend a much of the day praying. Also known as the Day of Atonement, it is an extremely important holiday that you can learn more about with books like the ones below ✡️

Shana Tovah! Today at sunset, Rosh Hashanah began, which is also known as the Jewish New Year. Sweet foods like apples, pomegranates, and honey are enjoyed, and a ceremonial horn called the shofar is blown to call Jewish people to their synagogues for ceremonies and prayers. Another important holiday tradition is the tashlich, where people throw crumbs or pieces of bread into flowing water to symbolize the washing away of their sins. A quarter of a century has passed, and it still feels fresh in our collective memories.
Four hijacked planes were deliberately crashed in Manhattan, NY; Arlington, VA; and Shanksville, PA, killing 2977 people on this day 25 years ago. This act of terrorism reverberated across the world, and today is recognized as Patriot Day in the USA. While focusing on the catastrophic loss is unavoidable, it is important to teach our kids about the bravery, generosity, compassion, and true humanity shown by the heroes on the day of and the days after the attack. Never forget 🇺🇲
