This would have been great to see how the Marines used the terrain of Antietam to fight a more modern approach for 1924. It would be great to witness that demonstration in today’s force on Antietam. It would be a great show of force and current maneuvers.

Today marks the 100th Anniversary of the 1924 Marine Corps Maneuvers at National Park Service's Antietam National Battlefield.
In 1924, over 3,000 Marines from the Marine Expeditionary Force marched to Antietam Battlefield from Marine Corps Base Quantico and participated in 11 days of training and events.
For the anniversary, the US Marine Corps Historical Company and the National Museum of the United States Navy will have displays of historic Marine Corps uniforms and equipment from the 1924 period as well as a showing from Bravo Co., 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, bringing a modern Light Armored Vehicle.
There will also be a commemorative ceremony featuring a brass quintet from "The President's Own" United States Marine Band and talks by Dr. Brian F. Neumann, Chief Historian, Marine Corps History Division, and Keith Snyder, Antietam’s Chief of Interpretation.
