Ally Wilson, Cameron Rice, Ivan Melendez-Lin and Caci Flores were presented the Howard and Mari McBee Robotics Scholarship by Mr. Tom Hensley.

Howard was a long time attorney in Frederick, a constant mentor of youth and young adults, and the founder of the Frederick School Enrichment Foundation. Mari taught in FPS and served as Clinical Dietician for Memorial Hospital for many years. We are thankful for their family and their generosity in supporting our youth through the Frederick School Enrichment Foundation.

Loyd Benson, Chairman of the Frederick School Enrichment Foundation, on behalf of the entire Board of Trustees, has announced that through the year 2025, 73 students received a total of Scholarships to colleges in the region totaling $44,000.00. He also stated that the Foundation awarded Teacher Grants to 39 Teachers for classroom enhancements to improve the learning opportunities for Frederick Students in the amount of $50,771.99.

Without this show of support for the Foundation, the Foundation would certainly not be in position to continue to support Graduates of Frederick Public Schools and the outstanding Teachers that compose the faculty.

Recipients of Wessel Scholarship Announced

Mrs. Lorene Wessel was the wife of Fred Wessel, Editor of the Frederick Press which served the people of Tillman County since the beginning of Oklahoma Statehood. Fred’s father started the newspaper which is the forerunner of today’s Frederick Press-Leader. Fred was the editor for over 50 years. He was a positive force in the Tillman County area all of his adult life. As his partner, Mrs. Wessel understood the importance of education and this made a major contribution to the Frederick School Enrichment Foundation, resulting in the Lorene Wessel scholarship which has been offered for 19 years.

The Lorene Wessel scholarship is awarded to second semester Freshman.

Recipients of Crawford Scholarship Announced

William H. “Bill” Crawford was a Frederick High School graduate, a long time bank president and a life long Civic Leader in Frederick. Mr. Crawford and his family created a scholarship to be used for second semester sophomores furthering their education.

!!SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY!!The Frederick School Enrichment Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for the Bill Crawford Scholarship for 2024 FHS graduates is now available.

Applications must be submitted in the second year after the students high school graduation, after completion of the third semester of college with at least 36 hours and a 2.0 GPA, or completion of the third semester of a career technology program as a full-time student on a satisfactory basis . All funds will be paid directly to the institution that the student is enrolled.

Completed applications along with a copy of the students unofficial transcript with enrollment for spring 2026 semester must be returned by January 9, 2025.

2025 FHS graduates who have at least 12 hours of college credit accumulative 2.0 GPA and are enrolled for the spring 2026 semester qualify for a $500 scholarship.

The Cora Fisher Scholarship is available to graduates of Frederick High School who are
full-time students, that have completed 24 hours of course work during the first year of their
collegiate career, that have obtained a
2.0 GPA, and that are enrolled as a full-time student for
the first semester of his/her sophomore year, to be entitled to a $500.00 scholarship from the
Foundation's Fisher Endowment for the first semester, sophomore year. Also, any student who
is enrolled in a full-time career technology program that has completed the full-time course work
during the first two semesters on a satisfactory basis will qualify for a $250.00 stipend for the
first semester of his/her second year of the career technology program.
All funds will be paid directly to the college or technology center where the student is
enrolled. Loyd Benson, Chairman of the Foundation, stated that "The Foundation Board believes
that this is an incentive to those students who wish to continue their education for the first
semester of their sophomore year, either in their college course or technology program. In this
time of high unemployment, students who obtain additional education will have a better
opportunity for the jobs that are available."

Howard & Mari McBee College Scholarship

The Frederick School Enrichment Foundation Chair, Loyd Benson, is pleased to announce that the Howard & Mari McBee College Scholarship deserving recipients for the Fall 2025-2026 school years are Jolee McIntyre who is attending East Central University, Mattilyn Espinosa who is attending the Oklahoma State University and Sidney Smith who is attending Oklahoma Baptist University.
Each scholarship shall cover $1,000.00 per semester which can be utilized for tuition and or books for a maximum of $2,000.00 per year to include four semesters for Juniors and two semesters for Seniors.
Loyd Benson, Chair of the Frederick School Enrichment Foundation, states that the Howard & Mari McBee College Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of the McBee Family who wish to honor their parents. Mari McBee taught in the Frederick Public Schools and served as Clinical Dietitian for Memorial Hospital for many years. Howard McBee was a long time attorney in Frederick, a constant mentor of youth and young adults, and the founder of the Frederick School Enrichment Foundation. The Frederick School Enrichment Foundation has invested hundred of thousands of dollars into the Frederick School System and deserving college students over the years. The family is pleased to honor Howard & Mari McBee with the scholarships.
