We are honored and grateful to share that Empowered to Live, Inc. has been selected as a 2026 Grant Recipient by The Women's Giving Circle of Frederick County, Maryland!

This funding will support the launch of our Young Women in Construction (YWIC) Initiative, focused on increasing the number of young women ages 16–24 exploring and pursuing careers in construction and skilled trades through Project GUIDE.

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

We are excited to share that Empowered to Live, Inc. has been awarded a grant from the Ausherman Family Foundation to support our Project GUIDE Pre-Apprenticeship Program.

This investment will help expand opportunities for youth and young adults ages 16–24 who are interested in careers in the construction and skilled trades industry, providing training, hands-on experience, and pathways to sustainable employment, post-secondary education, and registered apprenticeships opportunities.

Launch Your HVAC Career with Free Virtual Reality (VR) Training!

Are you interested in a career in HVAC? Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS), in partnership with National Trade Tech, is offering a 16-week Virtual Reality–based HVAC training program starting March 2, 2026.

Program highlights include:
✅25+ hours of immersive VR simulation
✅Applied skill practice through real-world HVAC scenarios
✅Three entry level HVAC certifications
✅Support connecting you with employment opportunities
✅Free laptop and VR headset

Graduates can earn:
✅OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
✅Nate Ready to Work Certification
✅EPA 608 Universal Certification

Mandatory weekly group check-ins will be held at FCWS.

The 2026 Work Ready summer jobs program is now accepting applications!

Want to earn a paycheck, gain real-world experience, and boost your resume this summer? Work Ready offers meaningful job opportunities for Frederick County youth ages 14–21 who face employment barriers, such as a disability or lower-income status.

📅Program Dates: June 29 to August 7, 2026
💵 Pay: $15/hour (minimum wage)
🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday, up to 20 hours/week

In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa, Tropix Jamaican Restaurant is organizing a community relief effort to provide essential supplies and support to families in Jamaica. Many households are experiencing severe loss, including displacement and limited access to food, clean water, and basic hygiene items.

The community is encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, bottled water, baby supplies, hygiene products, first-aid essentials, and clean bedding. Monetary contributions will also be accepted to support secure shipping and direct assistance on the ground.
