Our interns are off into the world doing amazing things! ๐๏ธ
We'd like to congradulate them on graduating from Hood College on May 15th! These two were a huge asset to the SHIP office this year as they learned more about how to support the nonprofit world. Because of their education at Hood, Ethan received his Bacherlors Degree in Phycology and Social Work and Meghee received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Health. ๐๏ธ
After working with these two for the past year, we'd like to take a moment to reflect on their experience with SHIP of Frederick County:
Ethan:
"While interning with SHIP, I was offered many opportunities. I provided case management for a handful of high school students, attended community school meetings, helped develop organizational policies, and managed SHIP's clothing and hygiene closets."
Meghee:
"Interning at SHIP of Frederick County is a deeply rewarding experience where you can directly champion youth equity and build a stronger community. In this role, I got to act as a vital bridge for students navigating complex milestones, whether I was guiding them step-by-step through the intimidating FAFSA process to unlock their higher education dreams or coordinating essential clothing and hygiene supplies programs that restore comfort, dignity, and confidence. Every day offered me a meaningful blend of hands-on advocacy and heartfelt connection, allowing me to see the immediate, positive impact of my support on a young person's life.
It is the perfect opportunity for any student looking to turn public health and social justice values into real, transformative action while growing both personally and professionally alongside an incredibly dedicated team."
Thank you Ethan and Meghee for your support of our students this year, we look forward to seeing what adventures await for each of you! ๐ซถ
