toon 22 is a non-profit organization dedicated ending Veteran su***de through the successful reintegration of service members and their families by assembling critical resources, providing peer support, and developing transitional programs. The Platoon Veteran Services Center will open its doors in 2022 located in Frederick, MD. This building will serve as a best-in-class facility bringing Veteran resources under one roof. Community partners include the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs, the Martinsburg Vet Clinic, Warrior Canine Connection, and more! Our goal is to significantly reduce the number of Veteran su***des taking place. We believe a better understanding of the transition to civilian life, access to available resources, and involvement in peer programming will have a great impact on this mission. Here’s the truth of the matter – the Veteran population is around 7% of the general population, but accounts for more than double the su***des. What does that mean? That means that without the full support of the civilian population, this problem will never be solved. So, please adopt our mission as your own. Our brave soldiers fight around the world to protect the same liberties and freedoms that contribute to your own happiness. If we as the civilian population take this epidemic personally, real change can be seen, and that change can happen sooner than you might think.
