On Friday, the Frederick County Catholic Schools Coordinating Committee held its first meeting of the new school year. Leaders from all five Catholic schools came together to share school updates, exchange information, collaborate, and support one another as we begin another exciting year.

And, of course, we couldn’t let the day go by without celebrating Fr. Matt’s birthday! 🎉🎂 We’re grateful for the opportunity to gather, work together, and celebrate the wonderful Catholic school community we share!

Welcome Mrs Kline!!

🍎 NEW TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Welcome, Mrs. Kline! 🐾

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Kline to the SJRCS family as our new 3rd Grade Teacher!

A graduate of Gettysburg College with a degree in Health and Exercise Sciences, Mrs. Kline originally planned to become a physical therapist before discovering her passion for education. Her teaching journey has taken her across the country with her Army family, including time teaching kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade, as well as working as an instructional aide.

After teaching in public schools, she felt called to return to Catholic education and is excited to join SJRCS. She was drawn to our school because of its supportive community and faith-centered education.

A few fun facts: Mrs. Kline loves running. She enjoys anything by Kristin Hannah, and Harry Potter is her favorite book series.

Most importantly, she wants every student to know that they are loved and that they matter.

Today, Co-Executive Director, Tracy Hickman and Board of Trustees member, Michele Corr, had the opportunity to attend Ash Wednesday Mass at Mother Seton School celebrated by Fr. Harry Arnone and Deacon Chris Cosentino. It’s always so good to see their principal, Kathy Kilty, vice-principal, Lexi Burns, Director of Advancement, Jennifer Buchheister and their whole community. There was something incredibly powerful about beginning the Lenten season surrounded by students, teachers, staff and families that were all pausing together for reflection, prayer and renewal. Ash Wednesday calls us to slow down, to reflect on what truly matters and to recommit ourselves to compassion, humility and service. As we begin this Lenten journey, may we all find moments of grace, growth and gratitude as we love God, our neighbor and ourselves🙏
