Charis is a Greek word, most often simply translated as "grace."

Our mission is to provide grace via community outreach and support to individuals and organizations in need throughout Frederick County, MD and the Panhandle of WV.

’Tis the season to give back! Today, proudly donated a generous number of turkeys to The Frederick Rescue Mission. Supporting our community and lending a hand during the holiday season truly makes a meaningful difference.

We had a little too much fun packing groceries. 😆 Proud to say that to help close this gap a little we were able to provide 21 individuals/families with 42 bags of groceries! We even had some left over for the community food pantry. 🤩

We know this doesn't fix the problem by any stretch, but we hope it's a Band-Aid that can help some of our friends and neighbors get a little bit further before things get back to normal!

What an incredible day for a great cause! ☀️ Thank you to everyone who came out for the FIRST Annual Charis Cares Co****le Tournament this past Sunday!

Thanks to your participation, we raised over $1,500 for our holiday giving initiative! That money will go directly toward making the holidays brighter for families our local communities.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our amazing partners who made the day possible:

A massive thank you to Novotny Lending Team w/ First Heritage Mortgage for providing the stunning prizes that made the competition even more exciting and helped us get lots of participants!

We also want to give a warm shout-out to Linganore Winery for hosting us at their beautiful location! (even if the wind was intense! 😉)

🌸 **Charis Cares: Purse with Purpose** 🌸

📅 **June 1 – June 30, 2025**

This summer, give a gift that empowers! As you're clearing out your closet or shopping for something new, consider donating a **new or gently used** purse or tote bag to help a woman in need step into a brighter future.

💼 **What We’re Doing:**
Throughout June, Charis Cares is collecting purses and tote bags and filling them with **toiletries, essentials, and uplifting items**. These bags will go to women in local shelters preparing for **job interviews and new opportunities**.

💖 **How You Can Help:**
✅ Donate **new or gently used** purses or tote bags
✅ Drop them off at any Charis Office In Maryland Cumberland, Frederick & New Market, In Pennsylvania Bedford, and in West Virginia, Martinsburg, or you can call Tracey Sullivan at 3015143544 or Trish Mills 3017480434

CHARISCARES SUPERBOWL FUNDRAISER
How it works:
We're selling each "square" for $25. Once all the squares have been selected, we will randomly pick numbers from 0-9 for each team in the Super Bowl, and assign that number to a particular row or column. These numbers represent the last number in the score of each team. In other words, if the score is AFC 17 - NFC 14, then the winning square is the one with an AFC number of 7, and an NFC number of 4.
Since this is a Fund Raiser, 50% of the proceeds will go to the CharisCares Organization, and the other 50% will be distributed among the Users with a Winning Square.
You can VENMO me (-Issler) directly to buy squares and I'll take care of all the payouts. I won't assign the numbers until right before the game and at that point I'll email and post the final filled out grid (just like last year!). If you have a specific location on the grid you want just shoot me a text when you send your moolah. If we sell enough and we need another card I'll start one!

Winnings Breakdown for Squares
End of 1st Quarter: 10%
End of 2nd Quarter: 10%
End of 3rd Quarter: 10%
Final Game Score (after any overtime): 20%
Payout to Charity: 50%
