Pete Hill was Babe Ruth before Babe Ruth — a pure hitter with power, speed, and elite consistency who dominated his era. While Ruth became a household name in Major League Baseball, Pete Hill was doing the same damage in the Negro Leagues: crushing pitchers, hitting for average, and leading championship teams long before the color barrier was broken. If Hill had been allowed in the majors, the record books — and the legends we tell — might look very different.
