Flagship partnership with the land owned by the County but located within the City limits. At this time a daycare center will occupy much of the ground floor. Conifer will build with local nonprofit Interfaith Housing Alliance on board in the application for state and federal funds for construction.

Plans for a new 145-unit affordable multifamily housing project called The Heights on Himes are moving forward after receiving approval on Monday from the city of Frederick's Planning Commission.

Council members recently elected a new executive committee. Teresa Dowd (left) will serve as Secretary. Mary Ellen Mitchell (center) is the Council Chair. Nia Condrey (right) will serve as Vice-Chair. We believe this is the first all women executive committee in the AHC’s history.

June is NationalHomeownership Month- and Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater delivered a Proclamation at the council’s meeting. As the recent Housing Study shows, the is a shortage of housing in our County, and we join in sentiment with our leadership that people deserve an opportunity to build their futures which includes homeownership.

Everyone deserves the chance to own a home and build a secure future! June marks National Homeownership Month and I am proud to recognize the programs and partnerships that help make that possible for those in Frederick County. Through initiatives like the Homebuyer Assistance Program and Housing Rehabilitation Programs, Frederick County Division of Housing is helping families achieve homeownership and supporting homeowners in maintaining safe, stable housing, creating opportunities for residents to put down roots and invest in their future.

Frederick County is grateful to work alongside many community partners who share a commitment to expanding access to homeownership. Together, we are helping ensure that the dream of owning a home remains within reach for everyone across Frederick County.
