Honoring Our Heroes

Yesterday, at Our Veterans Memorial Park, we proudly honored all who have served our country in observance of Veterans Day. As part of the ceremony, we unveiled beautiful monument signs representing each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces - a lasting tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and dedication of our veterans.

A heartfelt thank you to Grand Isle Shipyard for their generous donations of these monument signs, ensuring that the service and sacrifice of our veterans will be remembered for generations to come.

Washington Parish proudly joins communities across the nation in recognizing the sacrifices of our Purple Heart recipients. Today, alongside members of the American Legion, we unveiled one of our new Purple Heart Parish road signs on Hwy. 10. This sign stands as a permanent reminder of the courage, dedication, and service of our nationโ€™s combat-wounded veterans. We are forever grateful. Pictures with American Legion members are Senator Beth Sherman Mizell, Council Chairwoman Kim Miller Wagner and Parish President Ryan Seal.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

At Our Veterans Memorial Park, we are reminded daily of the courage, commitment, and selflessness of our fallen heroes. Let us never take for granted the freedoms we enjoy because of their sacrifice.

As you gather with loved ones today, we invite you to take a moment of reflection โ€” whether by visiting the park, flying a flag, or simply saying a prayer of thanks.

We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful.
