Prior to joining the FCMS team, Ms. Sturgell served as an Assistant Band Director for Seymour Community Schools in Seymour, IN.

NOW HIRING: Brass Tech and Woodwind Tech
Franklin Community High School Band

We are looking for a few brass and/or woodwind staff members to be a part of our team for the Fall 2026 marching season.

We are looking for someone that can be committed to most, if not the whole season.

Position Overview

The brass and woodwind techs will work closely with the Director of Bands and instructional staff to support the musical and visual development of the ensemble as a whole.

Summer rehearsals (June–July, including band camp)
Weekly rehearsals throughout the fall season
Weekend competitions (ISSMA & BOA events)

Tonight is the big night, our final concert of the season. Come see the FCHS, FCMS, and CBIS bands perform music from STRANGER THINGS!

Oh, it is also director of bands, Tim Kosch's FINAL concert at Franklin Community!!! Come wish him farewell as he heads into his "golden years!"

This week we gear up for our winds and guard to begin rehearsal for the 2026 marching band season! Percussion is continuing their try out process as well.

In addition to tryouts, we are also holding an informational meeting on Tuesday at 6pm in the FCHS band room! We'll be talking about what band looks like in the summer/fall and answering any questions you might have regarding the upcoming season.

We're really looking forward to getting things kicked off. Can't wait to see everyone!
