When Heritage Middle School assistant principal Dr. Dan Hollandsworth heard that other schools were teasing his students about the condition of their athletic fields, he made a decision.

“Not on my watch.”

With no background in turfgrass management and equipment in rough shape, Dr. Hollandsworth took matters into his own hands. After a full day leading the school, he heads outside – mowing, fixing irrigation, and tackling mechanical repairs – turning hard work into a true labor of love for his students and their pride in HMS.
