A select group of Waukegan Public Schools students went to a Christmas party and each one received a gift from the new fund at an organization created in the memory of Shirley E. Lopez — a woman with a special place in her heart for youngsters like them.

Participants in Waukegan District 60′s McKinney-Vento program talked to Santa Claus, ate snacks, socialized and received a gift from the Shirley E.
